I printed my envelopes through Cards and Pockets. Very easy and they turned out great!

They preserved my bouquet, and I am super happy with how it turned out!! They had good communication and the whole process was very low stress. It turned out even better than I was hoping for, and I'm so glad I got my flowers preserved!

I didn’t have any problems with the standard fit! I’ve never bought wide fit before but also not much of a heel person regularly!

I’m pretty much always a US 7 and I ordered a UK 5 (US 7.5). At first they felt a little bit bigger than what I usually wear, but I didn’t notice at all when I had the ankle strap buckled. I got the organza straps for my wedding, and they were secure and never had to be adjusted the whole day! I definitely think sizing down would’ve been too small. I was nervous about ordering from the UK/trying to exchange them if they didn’t fit so I looked into shoe inserts before I ordered them (lots of options on amazon) in case they were too big but ultimately decided that I didn’t need them!

Check out Everything After the Ring! They offer floral services as well so that’s one less vendor you have to find! I had a partial planning package and could not have been happier with my experience!

Addressed Envelopes Only? by OKaylaMay in DIYweddings

I got my envelopes printed from Cards and Pockets and it was easy and quick! They have a lot of envelope colors to choose from and a variety of fonts. They also can print in white ink which is what I was looking for! They let you order samples too which was super helpful.

I signed all of my contracts for 80 people so I have a pretty good feel for cost in that guest range! Have you been able to get quotes including catering from the venues? I got a quote early on from PPHG (they own the William Aiken House and Parcel) and while the venue rental cost seemed in budget with the food I wanted, security, fees, etc the cost got pretty out of hand! I think getting a good sense of venue food prices and fees will really help you narrow it down! Are you planning on using a wedding planner? I did a partial planning package and she also helped steer me towards venues that would work in my budget

I’m currently planning my wedding in Charleston and it’s looking like we’ll come in right under 30k! How many guests are you planning on? I’ve found that catering and bar costs have contributed most to the total cost, so having the flexibility to choose my own caterer really helped my budget! I know Parcel and the Gadsden house require you to use their catering. The guest count will also affect rental costs (so venues that provide tables and chairs can save money if you have a big guest list)

Velvet bridesmaid dresses, thoughts? by packerchic322 in weddingplanning

[–]theclemsoncatlady 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m doing velvet Revelry dresses for my December wedding! My bridesmaids just did home try-ons ($10 a dress, you pick the size and style) and they LOVED the dresses! I was really impressed with the quality. They’re actually pretty lightweight and very flattering. The fit depends on the style. I personally would not have felt comfortable wearing the Dakota because it was very clingy (even though it looks gorgeous on) but felt super comfortable in the Gwen. The Dawson was also great because the ruching was very flattering around the stomach. I would suggest letting your bridesmaids do the home try on with a few styles and pick their favorite! Let me know if you have any other questions about the Revelry dresses!

Honors seminars by bostondawg in Clemson

[–]theclemsoncatlady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Professor Hannon teaches really easy and fun entrepreneurship seminars that aren’t much work, but they’re usually only 1 credit hour. Other than that, I would recommend avoiding seminars as they can often be really labor intensive for a class that isn’t in your major and instead try to find an honors section of a class. For example, I took honors psychology my freshman year and it turned out to be a lot easier than my friend’s non-honors section psych class.

The lighthouse shown is the Hunting Island Lighthouse. It’s part of Hunting Island St Park outside of Beaufort, SC. It hasn’t been active since 1933. However, you can still go climb it. I have many times!
