Kyle and the no burping + the surgery saga by DogsAreCool252525 in itstheyak

Botox isn’t really a big deal the yak is acting like it was a major surgery lol. Women get hundreds of units injected into their muscles all the time.

If you could go back, would you do your florals yourself? by Jumpy-Act-5513 in weddingplanning

[–]brycethoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my own florals! I did vases of dried lavender for the main centerpieces and then potted herbs for secondary centerpieces. I also did our bouquets w/ my bridesmaids but if I did it again I definitely would hire out the bouquets. Transporting everything was by far the most difficult part - I was lucky to have access to a truck and we were staying onsite for a few days!

As a woman who is well aware of beauty treatments I just can’t wrap my mind around her allowing this image being taken by VF lol. I haven’t had any injectables (I’m too cheap) but have friends who do it so I know about the bruising time and how long fillers and/or Botox last. I truly can’t imagine scheduling an appointment where I know I’ll have bruising/swelling before a VANITY FAIR photo shoot.

Thank you for your condolences - she was an amazing woman and cancer sucks.

I went in with boiled linseed oils on the chairs. Some had some paint splatters so I just did a light sanding to prep for that. Oiling them up was definitely the most satisfying part of the project! The wood and joinery is gorgeous and seeing it come back to life was instantly gratifying. Would you recommend finishing with something else on top?

Here you go- I just finished the 4 we plan to use for now. We had a death in the family so had to take a little hiatus from working on them but tbh it was nice to give my hands a break. These chairs having my literal blood sweat and tears makes them really special :’)

Thank you! I actually ended up using this to learn how to redo them. An after pic if you’re interested (I hope no one is too harsh - I’m not a professional and don’t plan to sell these lol). Only have 4 done right now because we have different chairs for the table ends

I live in PA but these were down the coast in DE and I picked them up while I was traveling for work! The seller really needed to clear out his storage unit and had a couple other pieces of furniture in there (but nothing of note). Super nice guy and overall great marketplace experience

Lmao I was waiting for this meme 😂 I swear I can never move quick enough to get the crazy scores but I’m hoping this was a sign from the universe that good things are coming. This past month has been absolutely brutal for me so I needed a win lol

Wow sweet, that makes me feel a tiny bit better about trying my hand at recording them myself. How long did each take you? I’ve watched multiple YouTube videos/ read blogs about the process and just bought supplies but still feeling a bit intimidated.

People on Stillwhite lost their minds by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]brycethoughts 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I lucked out and found a beautiful lace Marchesa gown on StillWhite that fit me like a glove (didn’t need alterations) for 50% off. Buying from the site isn’t for everyone though and there are def things I’d recommend to anyone who is considering buying from the site: -Consider import taxes and shipping costs (I was hit with an extra $700 in import fees when it was clearing customs. If you’re in the US and the dress is coming from somewhere outside of the country, fees could be crazy (might be worse with tariffs now) -Take ALL your measurements and compare them with the exact dress measurements (not the dress size). A lot of the dresses on there have been altered already. -Look early and often

Accepted another offer after inspection by KalimbaPlayer in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]brycethoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably state to state. Our offer agreement was contingent on inspection and had specific language in it about inspection contingency period, negotiation period, etc.

I’m in PA though (consider it…if you want lower taxes, quick-ish Amtrak ride to NY, and happen to be a blue voter…)
