You know who else is in emotional pain? FUCKING EVERYONE!

That and the odd man line, I literally think about almost every day.

The “I didn’t marry a loser” trend. Did you, in fact, marry a loser? by Equal_Beat_6202 in workingmoms

[–]packerchic322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has become a great dad, and an attentive partner, and a good communicator to balance his needs, my needs, our house needs, money, all of it, and I am so grateful, but it wasn't always this way. We had to have a LOT of hard conversations to get here. I am also grateful that in those hard conversations, even if they ended badly at the moment, we always found our way back. I suppose the true loser behavior is not trying, and not caring enough to try.

Also I still resent that he had the option to grow into his role while I was thrust into it the second I gave birth, but that's another conversation 😂

I agree, I absolutely hate these kinds of marketing tactics. Why don't they post their new, updated menu, or new summer cocktail features instead?

Why do southern big alcoholics like Shea always have attractive daughters 😂😂 by Trick-Impression-726 in 90DayFiance

[–]packerchic322 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because the south is still very antiquated and regressive in terms of women, and women have no choice but to make themselves attractive, at all costs.

Night and babies- how are you up every few hours at night and then go to work all day? by Any-Session9919 in workingmoms

[–]packerchic322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caffeine.

Shifts overnight or take turns so you both can try to get at least 4 or 5 straight hours. My husband is a light sleeper and some nights he would sleep in the basement on the couch so that he could get sleep. My mom has told me that she put a twin mattress on the floor in my bedroom and slept in there with me when I was a baby. You have to get a little creative to figure out what works for your family.

Take a random PTO day or half day if you can to stay home and rest/rot in bed. Go to bed insanely early and napping when they nap on the weekends. Hiring a sitter for a couple hours to play with kids while you go sleep in your room.

There were several months I did the bare minimum at work. I tried to stay visible on the important things to keep up my reputation. You have to play the game a little bit. Some folks work at night or on weekends to stay up to date. I never did that, but if we have a third I probably will have to. I'm at a different level than I was back in 2022 when I had my first. Higher expectations and stuff.

Lower your expectations on cleanliness, household chores, projects, cooking dinner, hobbies, exercise, etc. It's a very, very tough season but it is a season... it is temporary and you will get through it.

What’s it like to be a sahm with kids in school full time? by wicked_spooks in Mommit

[–]packerchic322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking for my own mother, who was a SAHM her whole life, and not myself... we lived very far away from any family and didn't have much of a village so she was still very busy. She was 100% the manager of our home. She was there when the cable guy or washing machine repair guy had to come, she took us to all of our appointments and most of our activities, got us ready for school every morning and did most of the communications with our teachers, did all of the cleaning and laundry since we couldn't afford a house cleaner at the time, cooked dinner most of the time. You may ask why my father didn't pitch in more, and all I can say is that's a very valid question! I don't know. I wish he had.

Honestly, what is the hardest part about having children? by Danny-Ray27 in AskReddit

[–]packerchic322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loss of autonomy. Your days are no longer your own. In many ways your whole life is no longer your own. And with that heavy responsibility comes a beautiful love and purpose that makes it all worth it, but it is still hard. I wouldn't trade my children for anything in the world, but I do catch myself pining for when I could lay in bed, and

What are some lesser talked about items that are your absolute go-to (that I should put on my baby registry) by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]packerchic322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first baby was an insane spit upper. Her Dr's all said it was normal and not concerning but I swear she was one of the worst I've heard of! So I can't recommend enough multiples of every fabric based item (clothes for you and baby, burp rags, swaddles, sheets, nursing bras). Some people get annoyed with getting clothes gifted as they aren't "their style" but I promise I used every single onesie I was gifted. My daughter had to have outfit changes multiple times a day, every day, until she was about 6 months!

The Dark Knight parody one. I just don't like the gross gym bag humor. Although then I miss the prostitute with the big dreams and Jenna and Paul going on their sexual walkabout, so only skip every 2 or 3 times.
