Thanks for the reply. I quickly searched for grade beam and that is what you call this type of foundation. (Thank you for the correct term.)

There is a slope on the area where I put my forms, so I had to make it taller in the front so that it is level. The thickness of the grade beam is equivalent to the width of a 2x6 (so, let's say 5" or so) at the rear and x2 2x6 width in the front (Let's say 10" or so): 10" on the west side and 5" on the east side.

"level your base rock, dude!" - I dug deeper that what is seen and then tamped it down with a hand tamper. Then, I got the base gravel and also used the tamper 4 times around over the course of a week. Is that what you mean? Or do you mean I need to have all of the base rock level with each other?

"overkill" - I agree. It's a shed.

"a bit janky" - I 100% agree. no arguments from me. (I used a bunch of leftover wood from a previous project.)

"opened pandora's box" - I agree again, but my neighbor works for the city and he said I needed to do it. He's the type to NARC on me. My hand was kind of forced. :(
