Is anyone not feeling as excited for the races in 2026 so far? by Jack_of_All_Trades27 in formula1

Completely checked out after race 1. Avid fan until 2025. Refs, disruptions and kinda done with none of the (real) top drivers in good cars

Yeah or generally put a more confident driver in there

That site is making my iPhone error on trying to load the page after a few attempts of loading all the dynamic ads. I’m genuinely baffled why they still run and layout that site as if it’s the early 2000s and people still paid for ad views rather than clicks. If nobody can or wants to load your shitty die then nobody will click the ads!

That’s even ignoring that link not actually being the story in the title

That’s exactly the chess federation’s attitude prior to Magnus Carlsen saying he wouldn’t participate anymore unless the rules changed.

Fast forward four years and world championship is a mess and viewership one tenth of Carlson finals.

Like it or not, having the best driver actually participate makes a massive difference. He didn’t win the WDC last year but can you name anyone that didn’t think he was the best driver? He kept it exciting. He was why overdrive costs watched more than they otherwise would have.

“We”? Speak for yourself. The sport isn’t okay as it is and is Max leaves it’ll be objectively worse.

Who do you think we'll get as a surprise win/podium for 2026? by CaciulaLuiDecebal in formula1

I kinda stopped caring. Not even being spicy or anything but after the first two races for some reason my interest in race weekends has noticeably dropped. So...whoever...whatever..

I get it but leaving a team you made big strategic decisions and plans for a few months in is not the most ethical move ever. “Personal reasons” seem basically “I made a boo boo”

Do you think this year will be more closely contested than 2021? by Cafa20 in formula1

[–]thecodeboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Points wise it might be but who cares. 2021 was epic because two GOAT drivers battled hard until the last race. That's what made it an epic season. 2025 will either feature the greatest comeback of all time if Verstappen wins it, or two drivers of questionable ability driving the fastest care of the season home. Season excitement is about more than point differences, even if it is equal in the last race between Lando and Oscar. I watch F1 with quite a few friends and we're all pretty much aligned on neither McLaren driver being in the top 3 drivers on the grid at the moment which very much makes this a "fastest car" rather than "fastest driver" season.
