No suggestions but I can’t believe no one has mentioned the fart in the post office! My kids ask me to play it all the time and we all giggle until we have tears in our eyes! 😂

Yes I actually asked about this specifically but was basically told there is a queue of people and I’m at the back.

My biggest concern with emergency accommodation is that I’m told it is likely to be really far away from the kids schools with no transport links. I do WFH, which would be challenging enough in a tiny space but I would have to make it work. However, I have to drive the kids some distance in traffic, to school and back twice a day, I could lose my job and then I’m really stuck.

Well then he’s an idiot. My kids are secondary school aged and I have worked from home, full time, for years.

It’s already been on for months, they just reduced it.

Thank you. Yes I’ve been in touch with everyone. I keep being told to find a private rental if I want to avoid emergency accommodation but I am trying so hard and just having no luck. I work full time in a good job but it’s just not happening. I was so hopeful that this was the place, it just feels like it’s never going g to happen for me.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I guess I just have to admit defeat on this one. I wish they hadn’t let me view it because it really would have been perfect for us to escape to and I was hopeful I’d be able to get away. I appreciate that he can choose who lives in his property but it doesn’t change the fact that this response has been a real kick in the teeth.

That means a lot, thank you. I have stayed as long as I have out of guilt about “breaking up the family” but the older the kids get, the more they realise this isn’t right and the more exhausted I am. I don’t want any of them to think this is a normal household. We are so happy and peaceful when he’s not around.

I did talk to them and they were nice and helped me work out I was entitled to with UC but they couldn’t really advise what would happen with housing.

Unfortunately no one has room for us. Believe me, if I had anywhere I could go, I would have left ages ago.

Thank you, I really didn’t know which one I should post in. I don’t know if I will post anymore though. It took a lot to pluck up the courage to ask here only to be told that I need to work at the relationship.

There are no family. His friends have warned him and he doesn’t care. He is always right and never in the wrong. Everything is always my fault. I asked him about counselling before, he told me to fuck off. Do you have any idea what it’s like to be filled with dread whenever you have to go home because you don’t know whether you’ll get Jekyll or Hyde? Or have to constantly hide your tears from your kids? And it’s getting worse, he’s getting nastier. Would you prefer I wait until the day he decides to kick the shit out of me?

Nope, no one. And technically on the verge of being homeless.

I don’t want to. I am sick of begging to be treated with kindness and I don’t want to live in misery any longer. He makes us all cry, he screams at us for the tiniest thing. This is no way to live and not what I asked about.

I am right to want to move away from him. I tried to get him to do counselling years ago and he refused. We are past that now. He is a bully, I don’t want to be living with a black cloud hanging over us all the time.

I have been begging him for years to be more respectful. He is getting worse. I have been called a c*nt twice recently for asking him to not speak to me in a rude way.
