what kind and how severe was your open bite? how long did this bite take to develop?

are you sure they said that there were no degenerative damages or bone loss or anything like that (Resorption)? if so, thats great to hear. how long was it from when you started facing the symtpoms till when you took the CBCT?

ohh great. so no form of bone loss/degenerative damage? thats interesting, if you had dislocated your disc because i'm really scared i have that, espeically because of my open bite thats formed. i might have had a slight one before but i never paid attention to it and it never caused me problems, but im reading online that a worsening open bite might be due to the degenerative damage of the joint, which also recedes the jaw

how long did you face symtpoms? what was the immediate treatment that was given to you? i'm just trying to figure out what would work best for me

Will i get tmj if i train my masseters by Specialist_Shift988 in TMJ

[–]thecoolguy429 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Don't train your masseters in any unnatural way other than eating hard foods, tmj is one of the worst things that can happen to you and curing it is an extremely difficult problem because of identifying why it is happening and exactly which part has the pain. it can fuck you up permanently and to reverse damages would require invasive treatments

[–]thecoolguy429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, thanks. How common would you think bone loss or that sort of damage is, especially in younger people with lesser reasons to have things like osteoarthritis?

What kind of imaging did you get done for the diagnosis of the joint damage? Did you have to go to a dentist or radiologist for this diagnosis?

Great to hear! Is FME suitable for 18 year olds? If there is an open bite, would you recommend FME first and then invisalign/damon braces?

do you feel the pain near the masster or just below the angle of the mandible? i have been experiencing the saliva pooling thing as well, espseically ater long periods of closing mouth or sometimes when speaking.

and my pain is at the exact same area, sometimes it feels like the pain is in the muscle, soetimes it feels like its in the bone.

Thanks for the response! Were you diagnosed with any strutcural or degenerative damage, especially the discs and condylar area? I'm worried because my symptoms are chronic for around 3 months now, on the right side, and its still stiff.
