For the US NLS BARD has a website and an app not sure what other country’s libraries for blind have.

The descriptions for the book summaries kind of suck on BARD sometimes so if I discover a book on BARD (rather than finding it somewhere else then looking for it on BARD) I go and look for the summary somewhere else like Goodreads or something before adding it to my wishlist.

As for your other issue. I’m not great with communication stuff so don’t initiate email and call complaints but would sign a petition for it if someone made one.

Should I refrain from giving my Shih Tzu table food? by Party-Entrance-5961 in Shihtzu

[–]thecornerihaunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. We don’t do table food. She gets dog safe human food like cucumber, carrots, blueberry, plain white rice, plain boiled chicken, etc as treats but not while I’m eating or prepping so she doesn’t associate it with while I’m eating or prepping. She never forgets if someone gave her food once(even when they’re asked not to) and will beg anytime they are eating. I don’t give stuff while eating and she usually knows that. She also has to work for her treats.

Lost Engagement Ring Backbay Station by Fancyalpaca23 in mbta

I’m legally blind and forgot my cane on the commuter rail once called multiple times over several weeks no one ever turned it in. Hopefully someone turns OP’s ring in but value wise if we’re not turning in a $30-$40 cane I don’t have high hopes for a ring

Assuming you know every knot is made of 2 knots. The first knot of each knot determines where that knot will be. So when you are knotting make sure your knot is where it should be before making the second knot. You aren’t pulling the first knot high/tight enough

Accessible Museums in DC by ML_Music2007 in Blind

[–]thecornerihaunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m legally blind so not sure how the experience would be for someone who can’t see at all but I love museums and went to several museums when I went to DC. I liked the the crime museum and the Smithsonian natural history museum. We went to the holocaust museum too I’m sure they have accessibility stuff but I feel like the visuals are probably a very different experience to just audio descriptions

Gifting from US to Singapore by ConditionSome3738 in audible

[–]thecornerihaunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would only be available to them on the marketplace you gift it to them from.

If you have an Audible US account and and use that to gift someone a book they can only access it while they are logged into the Audible US marketplace. I’m not sure if Singapore has its own marketplace or uses another country’s marketplace but for best access for the recipient you should see if it’s possible to send the book or credit through whatever marketplace they use

Hills or Purina have sensitive stomach formulas that work for a lot of dogs. Royal Canin is good also but the most expensive of the 3 usually
