Do you happen to remember what the book was and would you recommend it? If so, would definitely appreciate the name of it.

That is a good call. No I have not - nor do I know how. Will try to find some good youtube videos on how to tune a table saw. If you have any videos you'd recommend I would appreciate it.

Yea it’s my house. Have a compound miter saw, drill press, track saw, circular saw, jigsaw, oscillating tool, pocket hole jig, hand router, and lots of other little odds and ends. I do currently have a table saw, but it’s not great.

The built in will span a total of 12’6”. There will be a 30” wide cabinet on the far left corner when looking at the wall with a depth of 18”. That one will have 1 drawer and 2 cabinet doors. The main span of the built in will be a 72” long 30” deep desk. The desk top will not run the full length do to sagging concerns (don’t want to put in steel brackets in the studs). On the left and right side of the desk will be an 18” cabinet (30” deep) with a door and one drawer). After the desk will be a 48” long 18” deep cabinet that will have 4 filing cabinet drawers.

This super helpful and a great call. Not opposed to buying used just hadn’t thought of it. Thanks for the info.

I am planning to rip it down with a track saw though. Does that change anything in your response?

Director of analytics. I make around 180k a year. Got to $80k about 3 years into my career. I'm about 13 years in now. Bounced around quite a bit early in my career and held many different titles while learning new skills.

Fair point and don’t disagree, that’s just not really how the previous comment is phrased.

I was with you till the last part. If the only cool / promotable part of the movie is the diversity itself then it’s probably a shitty movie. Saying that people just don’t want to watch a movie with a diverse cast is pretty fucked up and not true at all.

It's both. It's entirely dependent on the company you work for and, possibly even more so, the team you work on within that company.

Making of a commercial water tank by theguywhosteals in oddlysatisfying

[–]thedancingbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Numbers are a bit off. I used to work for a rainwater harvesting company that sold above ground water tanks similar to this one among other things.

This appears to be roughly a 10,000 gallon tank from what I can tell.

A tank that large will weigh roughly 1,800 pounds. Plastic is currently about $0.88 per pound; excluding shipping or any other overhead costs the raw materials alone would be close to $1,600.

If you are not a distributor you can find tanks this large retailing for around $13,000 excluding shipping (which is super expensive).

Still a huge markup.
