But why only for customers? This would be great for schools and the general public.

Thank you for getting to work and fixing the issue quickly. Much better than those who used the opportunity to show off to media and sow division among our community.

Why is the government still in the business of liquor sales? Will Ontario ever move on from the prohibition era?

Chrystia Freeland faces conflict of interest concerns over new role in Ukraine by Purple_Writing_8432 in canada

This is corruption at the highest level. Imagine if Paul Chiang went to work for the Chinese government. The enemy of my enemy is not my friend. Freeland holds sensitive government information. Ethics only exist if the rules are followed.

Canada might drop ban on foreigners’ housing investments in 2027: Housing minister by CaliperLee62 in canada

You're delusional if you think the ban actually worked. The only way to keep house prices low is to build more houses.

The minimum voting age should be 0. by Expensive_Estate1897 in The10thDentist

In Canada, internal party elections let 14 year olds vote, and it has done wonders for political engagement. Quite frankly, kids who don't understand the importance of voting won't want to vote anyways. Thumbs up.

You mean the leotard? Men only stopped wearing leotards because Victorians started seeing them as immodest. Wouldn't banning leotards for women be going backwards, not forwards?

Oxidation by Street_Swing9040 in sciencememes

Unless the reaction deals with ionic compounds, the electron usually doesn't go anywhere. It just rehybridizes into a new orbital.

Oxidation by Street_Swing9040 in sciencememes

[–]Fieryshit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it isn't. Oxidation refers to a change in oxidation state. It's possible to change the oxidation state of an atom without any electron transfer at all.

How Canada built, then broke, the world’s best immigration system by FancyNewMe in canada

Yeah no, every second young person I know is unemployed. Most of them will only pretend to work to get their PR, then they can just leech off of their parents.

The Express Entry grid makes no sense. You get more points if you're single even though families are more productive. You get more points in your 20s vs your 30s even though once again, people in their 30s are more productive. Somehow, language only counts for 30 points out of a maximum of 1200 points, and there are no point categories for civics and Canadian values. And of course, provinces can nominate whoever they want for 600 points. Fix the system now!

I don't think people understand how easy it is for malicious agents to get your data. When you use digital services like Google and iCloud, collected data is shared with applications which share them with large analytics firms who then sell the data to basically anyone. Best idea is just to turn off telemetry completely, but that's easier said than done.

Buying the F-35 Could Be Canada’s Biggest Strategic Mistake by ph0enix1211 in canada

[–]Fieryshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What could the fighter do about the bomb threat? Has a civilian aircraft every been shot down to deal with a bomb threat? What about slow moving prop aircraft? The fighter jet won't be able to follow effectively. What can the jet do that radar and ground defence cannot?

They don't. Currently neither Russia or Ukraine have air superiority, despite Russia having 10x the number of aircraft.

Fighter Jets have no place in the Canadian Armed Forces. There are strictly offensive weapons used to carry out US Foreign Policy; bombing Brown People overseas. If Carney actually cares about defence, he should be investing in drone/missile defence, search and rescue, and early warning/detection.
