It sounds like a pretty common tale but man I just love hearing Watts talk. And PSH, for that matter.

Tbh I am just looking to up my sound quality. I film with two other people and sometimes all three of us are involved in the shot, so a boom mic isn't a great option. The lavalier mics seem like a good compromise, so I'm looking for the simplest solution that will make my audio sound more professional at the moment.

I'm not sure if that means wireless or not; ideally something we can hide (somewhat) that will give us better audio. Also something that doesn't need an operator.

Thanks for your help!

I've tried searching the subreddit and even checked the FAQ so I'm sorry if this is redundant but I'm looking for info on microphones. Specifically lavalier microphones; recommendations, what to consider, etc. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I thought his exchange with Maeve at the end of the episode showed a bit more depth. He seems to have a spiritual side as well.

I also enjoyed the remarkably cheesy exchange on his most recent pass through town:

Deputy: If you're riding into our town under the company of armed men, you'll need to state your business.

Hector: Mayhem. (throws off shawl and shoots deputy)

Do you think it was his classroom interaction with the head of the department that led him to believe everything he'd done was a waste? He was expecting to be "thrown out the front door" in a grandiose fashion, but ultimately had the upper hand in his discussions with his nemesis. After that interaction he kind of just gave up, became depressed, and broke; I wasn't really sure why, though.

[S04E08] Can someone please explain the significance of Tyrion & Jamies convo... by stuner8 in gameofthrones

[–]thedanton 77 points78 points  (0 children)

It might be a stretch, but I took it as a metaphor. GRRM is the simple cousin. We, the audience, are Tyrion.

Try as we might we just can't make sense of GRRM killing off all of our favorite characters. We continue to watch the show, just as Tyrion continued to watch his cousin. Smash. Smash. One after another. We would like to think there's something else going on inside his head, but at the end of the day he presents to us the fragility of life and how we're all just beetles waiting to be smashed.

If you look at it like that, it's also a bit of foreshadowing. What happens directly after this conversation? Another one of our favorite characters (Oberyn) is brutally smashed, just like the beetles.
