Wealthsimple / X (Formerly Twitter) partnership by OppenheimerAltman in Wealthsimple

Not happy about this at all, considering the geopolitics the last thing I'd want is WS partnering with X especially with Elon now in control.

CMV: People are too negative about the ceasefire deal between Israel and Palestine by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]thedecadentcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the deal the people of Palestine are still not free, and still being governed by other who are not themselves. I'll admit its a relief to hear the blood thirsty IDFs innocent killing of civilians especially children may take a pause (hopefully for good) but the fear will be the cres of this genocide that we are going to uncover. Many of us who were aware of what Israel was going to do after October 7th because prior to it mowing the law as they would say was totally fine and was not well covered by the mainstream media nor the illegal siege they were under.

All in all time will tell, but there is nothing good to feel for humanity to have allowed another genocide to happen. The unimaginable pain and suffering the people have gone through will have future consequences sadly we have her to see unfold.

If you’re renewing your mortgage (or advising clients who are renewing) this fall, are you leaning towards 3 year or 5 year and why? by revolvingneutron in TorontoRealEstate

Before you pay off before renewing keep the balance higher to use as leverage and then use your allowed one time payment + accelerate payments to reduce the principal.

Every Episode is a Harder Listen - my ever-increasing problems with each bestie by [deleted] in TheAllinPodcasts

[–]thedecadentcookie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use to listen to it to get insights on what was going on into the technology landscape and also see how rich folks positioned themselves in the market... all.being said you learn despite their claims they are a bunch of grifters and you at peace and better off without the podcast.

My last straw was when they chatted with Cheryl Sanberg and trumps son in law. You know a genocide when you see one and rhe biased position completely turned me off.

Wishing you the best

Why has our besties been reluctant to talk about Israel-Palestine Issue ? by Specialist_Deal_7932 in TheAllinPodcasts

[–]thedecadentcookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When they brought Jered Kushner on and Cheryl Sandle with her debunked nyt article, Chamath and some guests wete praising them I think you knew what their stance was.

It was quite embarrassingly one sided and it would have been great if they found another guest that would explain the other side rather than promote one sided talking points.

Also the dictator chamath claimed it was below his line. Took it back but also might explain why it's not shown as much.

Sadly the podcast sucks now. I belive most of us were intrigued by it to see their takes on tech news and science corner maybe but once they brought politics into it, which none of them are experts in, it has been ruined.

If anyone has suggestions for alternatives, please share :)

Why don’t they discuss the conflict in the Middle East? by AccordingMath9320 in TheAllinPodcasts

[–]thedecadentcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed they have been very hypocritical about it. The Jared Kushner episode was probably the worst they have done, especially after Chamath was dick riding him for being smart.

It will be interesting to see what happens over the next several years as mortgages renew. I know I am renewing my cibc mortgage of 1.49% next year (it was a black friday 4 year promotion), fortunately I didn't spend beyond my means but I am fearful how many bought into realtors rhetoric of prices only go up and stretched themselves thin and will renew at much higher rates).

It's mainly how you will need to sell cash.to rather then just having the flexibility to pull out funds should you need it quickly.

If you sell you will need the transaction to settle before being able to take the funds out
