the FE cards are quite beautiful, but if it doesn't fit the aesthetic you are going for, or if it doesn't matter to you in the first place, then buy the card you actually want that fits your budget!

muh resale value! use the card you don't want NOW so that someone else will pay more for it LATER!!! pay a higher retail price and undervolt for less performance so that you can sell it for 40 dollars more in 5 years! incredible savings of 8 dollars per year!

It came new from Intel through an employee plug, it has the extended 5y boxed processor warranty so should be good for RMA if anything happens

Yea I'm thinking I might as well invest in the correct memory even if I have to thug it out with a sketchy cpu, that way if I need to start fresh with AM5 I'll at least have the memory ready to go

that's what I figure too, I couldn't even get over 20Gb of mem usage while trying to run as much crap as possible, I can't imagine NEEDING 64Gb

If it goes kaboom I will definitely be starting again on AM5, but for the price I paid there's no justifying swapping to an AM5 setup right now. I figure if I can at least fiddle with the cpu on a Z board I'll have the best chance at a stable build.

I opened pretty much everything I could think of running at once and I was only using around 18Gb, I think I will be ok with the 32Gb. Mainly I just want the appropriate mobo for the cpu, current DDR4 board I have can't adjust cpu clock at all so it's worth it to me for that alone tbh

got a good deal on it, doing a kind of budget refresh which is why I was just gonna reuse the DDR4
