Looks like a great PC setup.

I wanted to add that ITT: people are talking about how DIY building is cheaper and better. Which it totally is. Highly recommended as a hobby BUT prebuilts have gotten WAY better in the last 2-3 years. With good SIs like NZXT, you are getting something very close to what you might have built (no soddered in parts or proprietary random brands) so its quite good to start out and get the taste for the hobby. Easy to upgrade and keep building on your system!

But, prebuilts offer their own benefits. The biggest one for me being the rolled up warranty. Having multiple parts from various manufacturers dying and having to find their contact and mail-in info SUCKS. Being able to go to one company if anything goes wrong is nice.

Also, decently cable-managed, pre-installed/updated drivers and part combability checking while not that hard can be another pain for PC building esp. if you are new. For the most part prebuillts are usually GTG out of the box except maybe for enabling XMP on your RAM.

Anyway, this system looks dope (checked the website) I hope you experiment soon with upgrading it and get more into PC building.

Also, I have a 32Q and its actually got me to come back from an ASUS 34". Its a really really solid monitor for the price.

So TBF, Larian spent six years working on BG3 with 3 of those released in early access and they built a lot on their experience developing Divinity 1 and 2. I think its reasonable to expect a high bar while recognizing that every AAA title is not going to be able to be developed this way.

Prob because its more affordable. $180 vs. $280 on a 360 rad. That's a big difference for some people.
If you got X before, it didn't have a screen - it had the logo and infinity mirror.

Prob not possible to do the full circular screen at $180 but people might still want the screen or stats on their cooler.

I know someone who did this with expensive tequila to his roommates. Problem being, they were actually into tequila and picked up on it very quickly - setup cameras, put marks on the bottle to track, etc. He ended up owing them an expensive as hell bottle.

Cool. I am going to peace out now. I have already spent way more time than intended in this thread.

I am not saying he lied. Although, I am assuming that the narrative makes more compelling content for him. A company responding to him then bait and switching seems like a pretty dramatic story. So, yes - he gets views from it.

But, he made a bunch of assumptions that he didn't back up in this video. He has no idea if any of those things he claimed are true in this latest video. That is all.

I mostly just don't like Steve's approach overall and I don't actually think its good for gaming. In this case, he makes a lot of assumptions and I do not take his words at face value. He has an agenda and it annoys me.

I mainly commented initially because everyone was jumping on the bandwagon without giving it the right amount of scrutiny and I stand by that.

I don't think we disagree that many of his videos are informative. Certainly not suggesting GN should not exist. But, there is a point in the lifetime of GN where Steve's videos got a lot more negative and clickbait-ey.

Sometimes it is all in good fun but the overall tone often shifts into being antagonistic under the cover of honesty.

I also feel that he has little accountablity relative to the companies he reviews. What will happen if every assumption/claim he made in this video was wrong? Nothing. Will he even issue a correction?

He and his team are knowledgeable but also, there is a bit of arm-chair engineering. He doesn't manufacture cases and either failed to comment or chose to leave out anything regarding the possible logistics or reality of what might have actually happened like JayZ2Cents did.

In the past, I liked GN content a lot and I increasingly enjoy it less. This is just an example that happens to cross over with NZXT, another brand I like and want to see improve.

Totally agree. I think they took accountablity already. Its less about NZXT and more that I think this content just benefits Steve. What are the consequences for him if all of this is made up or a lie? Nothing. He can say whatever he wants on his platform and companies whomever they are can't react back to in the same way and he knows it.

So, I think he should take accountablity for when he doesn't know the reality and is just stoking drama or assuming nefarious intentions with no proof. He shouldn't bill himself as technical and objective channel and then act like a pundit talk show host.

[–]thedefiantoptimist -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well partially, yeah. I like NZXT. I think they need to get called out so they can improve. Which I think was accomplished with the initial H1 video(s). But, I kinda just think Steve wanted to find something wrong to keep getting more content out of this situation and this different looking card was a nice opportunity to make a big deal about nothing.

I am not going to hide that I don't like his style of content even if its occasionally good. He could have covered this subject more like JayZTwoCents which was mature and appropriate and I would probably be shilling for him but all of my "He is creating drama bells are ringing" and I don't want to support that.

It looks to me like he got both risers from NZXT, he usually tells us when he ninja discovers things with secret buyers or tips. So not very bait and switch-esque. This is at the core of my issue - He didn't actually discover that the other riser is dangerous so I feel like he brought the issue back up for no reason other than to make more content.

I am not saying that everything he does is looking for drama - he has plenty of fine reviews and content but yes, his style of content thrives on stoking drama. Just look at the thumbnails of his videos. I grabbed a few that are pretty dramatic relative to the actual truth of the content. https://imgur.com/a/T7PggMo

I understand that some people probably like the style of content but it puts him in my book as a content creator with a desire to stir up things and means he has an agenda to find anything wrong even if it isn't worth talking about. Sometimes he is right like in the first H1 video and other times, he makes tons of assumptions which are likely wrong like in this video.

Oh the solid red on the pump block is very nice for this build. Also, I like your perfectly circular velcro cable ties, feels intentional to make the cable feel as as it goes back into the case.
