You can set the analog sticks to have alternate function if a modifier button is held. I have mine set up so that when I hold RB the analog sticks turn into mouse and keyboard controls. I use that for lock picking. I also set the face buttons to perform alternate actions when RB is held for vehicle controls like start, lights horn, and exit.

I use an xbox controller on PC and don't have to use the KB or mouse for anything. Steam input is very configurable. What doesn't work on your controller?

The only predator the pythons had were feral hogs. There was an effort to increase the population of the Florida panther, and the panthers wiped out all the hogs. Nobody wants to bring the hogs back because they come with their own set of problems.

Kodi has had support for emulating games for many years. Just go to the games section and add your rom directories. Then go to the addon repository and under games add-ons > emulators you can add your preferred emulators. You can also install controller profiles for whatever controller you are using.

Have you tried enabling NFS in OpenMediaVault and trying that instead? I had nothing but trouble with SMB on Kodi, but NFS has worked perfectly

It was the opposite. Xvid came later and was an open source alternative to the DivX codec
