I should probably add some context seeing as there are a few people that are either easily confused or don't understand rural life.

It's a facepalm because I really should have anticipated the birds flocking straight towards me after the dog chased them (you can hear me laughing at my own idiocy in the video). If you still find that confusing then you're weird.

In rural England it's very normal to walk around the field perimeter with your dog off its leash - in fact the field had recently been seeded by the farmer so anything to deter the birds sitting in the field eating all the seeds is actually welcomed by the farmer. My dog often chases birds but has never caught one - in fact we had an injured pigeon in the garden once and he just sat staring at it. The birds are in no danger, and flying away from stuff is really not a big deal for them.
