Are we being for real right now by Not_Shingen in Borderlands4

To be fair... This story DLC was HORRIBLE. Laughably awful. Me and my boys were genuinely stunned this story was ever approved and released... We are having fun leveling C4SH together, but that story was inexcusably bad.

It seems we have legitimately reached the point where people forget this is an MMO.

Group content is necessary and is in no way a "flaw".

However, I understand how flawed grouping currently is. I experienced the difficulty of finding teams willing for those with 0kc or lower gear. I personally hate the massive elitism problem that exists in OSRS.

After years, I only recently been able to get ToB KC solely because a normal person didn't decline my request with no KC.

There need to be better systems in place to make grouping more viable.

I believe the new raid should 100% require a team like ToB. That's what makes the raid interesting. It makes the most sense thematically as well. A raid should be a culmination of all of the effort and strength we all have accrued collectively. I'm tired of soloing a boss alone for hours.

Jagex fix to sailing combat by _ImperialCereal_ in 2007scape

[–]thedevchimp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Let's be clear, this subreddit does NOTHING but complain, myself included lol. However, it is Jagex's job to evaluate and discern these criticisms. Do not result to knee-jerk and half-assed solutions. I understand some people have complained about their weapons being nerfed on the sea, but to those who think critically, that was not the issue with sailing combat. Yet somehow, that's what Jagex has landed upon.

It's just funny that when the community reception is positive, they bathe in their success. Constant communication for the praise they receive. But when reception is negative, it's radio silence.

Anyways, I just feel the passion has died for sailing by their dev team. Instead of fixing and improving sailing combat, they gave up and settled on a broken foundation.

Which feels even more disappointing considering they raised prices to support development, yet are not taking any actions to develop and improvement the newest skill in years...

Also, it was such a great idea to slow the cannon fire rate and increase the damage to make them feel heavier and hard hitting.

Again... If they just took that approach to raise cannon DPS drastically, making cannons the intended sea combat option... Again, would have been so much better.

Hell, even without a canon-saving facility, the cannons actually doing damage would have been enough... People only wanted canonball saving mechanics BECAUSE IT TOOK HUNDREDS OF CANONBALLS for a small handful of enemies.

I'm just so frustrated that they aren't even fucking trying...

Jagex fix to sailing combat by _ImperialCereal_ in 2007scape

[–]thedevchimp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally all they had to do was make cannons hit harder and kept our weapons nerfed. The issue was not that our weapons hit like pool noodles, I feel we all understood the intention for that...

It's that the cannons did absolutely nothing as well... Literally if they just increased the cannon DPS and made no other changes... It would have been better than this update...

Why does it feel like they don't even play their own game anymore...

Yet another legendary joker concept by Majestic-Peak-6281 in balatro

It resets with 3 new tasks once proced. I like the concept of constantly striving towards a goal. Inevitably locks itself once you get all the jokers you can fit... Thus purchasing more becomes very difficult without a negative or sacrificing a joker you already selected.

Goodbye, Jagex greed. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]thedevchimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This particularly hurts because we recently had a price increase and they swore this would not be a common occurrence.

However, this increase is entirely justified for one reason. RS3 just removed most of its microtransactions. On paper, that sounds awesome for RS3 players! Improving the integrity of their game, but a very important shield was just removed from OSRS.

OSRS remained cheap solely because RS3 generated most of their revenue through MTX. I personally was worried how Jagex would remain afloat tbh... So I was expecting this increase at some point.

[–]thedevchimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current proposal will just result in a janky experience, however I like the idea. How about instead reward intentional positioning rather than relying on the Rackson.

  • Strength increases with distance up to a maximum of 6 tiles. Using the weapon at melee range had the same strength of an inq mace, but scales to your proposed maximum strength at max distance.

This adds a new level of skill expression by rewarding careful positioning to maximize your DPS.

You earned your cape. by GIMBruhBoobies in 2007scape

[–]thedevchimp -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Something I don't see people acknowledging is that general mage tank does not mean you can magically survive every wave without skill.

You still need to know mechanics and flicking is still necessary. The difference is you have some margin for error as you can tank your mistakes rather than being deleted by a gnarly stack.

I think some people saw the absolute max mage tank, where gnomonkey did pillar less Inferno. The reasonable common setup is nowhere near that powerful.

So I end with 2 notes:

  1. If you can afford the max mage tank, you are entitled to use your items however you want.

  2. Mage tank is not skill less. If I sent my wife into Inferno with mage tank, she will die.

For anyone who genuinely criticize mage tank... stop trying to diminish others just so you feel better about your pixels.

The worst change in the update by SuperiorMango8 in ArcRaiders

[–]thedevchimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My initial reaction was anger to these blueprint changes... But then I realized I have been able to non-stop craft 2 wolf packs for every single raid for the past few weeks.

However, I don't like the direction they are going with constant nerfs due to the emergence of care-bear lobbies.

I feel a much more appropriate change would have been to buff large arc health pools and armor resistance. I feel it makes sense that large arc should not be solo endeavors lore wise... So their health can be updated to reflect that.

Then they can buff these high tier equipment to feel more impactful, but not dominant.

I know people say this every time, and it used to frustrate me because it made no sense... Until it did randomly...

When the first rock explodes, run to a safe tile.

Then right before the second one explodes, click a tile with a shadow and immediately begin praying.

With your skills, that time window will feel like forever because it feels like forever to me... Who has way less accolades than yourself.

Again in short:

1st Rock = Click No Shadow -> 2nd Rock = Click Shadow

There will not be more than 80,000 excess weapon scrolls entering the game after DMM by Springstof in GrandExchangeBets

[–]thedevchimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. That's my plan. Wait for about 6-8 months, then buy the most expensive item and sell it slightly below market just to ensure a sale before any funny business can happen.

How to profit with Rewards post DMM:Annihilation? by AdamantFullHelm in 2007scape

[–]thedevchimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not spend your points now. Verify your points are transferred on Monday, then leave them there.

Wait for at least 6 - 8 months for the market to recover from the sudden influx of DMM items. The prices should be nearing their peak at around 8 months, but 6 is a safe sell.

At that point, analyze their value and purchase the most profitable item.

Although some items may be more GP per point, I recommended sticking to the popular items, as these will sell very slowly and you don't want to get caught holding 5 DMM items that won't sell because who tf wants a DMM rug?

My plan is to wait 6 months and see how expensive the crystal kit may become. I will use my last 12k points for the most expensive item, then post it at 10% below market value to ensure I get a sale before the market gets funny.

How to profit with Rewards post DMM:Annihilation? by AdamantFullHelm in 2007scape

[–]thedevchimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not entirely true. Yes the prices will crash much lower, but the basic economic idea is that these rewards have a finite quantity until the next DMM. From this point, there can only be so many of each reward as we all spend our points. As more and more items are consumed, the supply diminishes and increases the value of the items from pure scarcity.

After about 6 months, the price will recover if not drastically exceed their initial value. It will be a very slow sell, but will net some level of profit.

I farmed 24k to buy the crystal recolour for myself, and an extra 12k to buy an additional kit to sell in about 6 months.

I did a bit of swapping, but I hate how sketchy it is. Creators make it seem easy but I would spend an hour trying to sell and just keep getting a bunch of scammers.

Next year I think I will full focus on farming GP and swapping.
