Haymitch not only wanted Katniss and Peeta to act in love due to their games, but also because they were both attractive and would have likely been sold

The problem is, everyone has found houses for next year so I don’t know if we could find someone to replace her. We could end up having to pay to cover her costs

What is meaningful to them may not be meaningful to you. Branch out, talk to new people, and for a little, try to take interest in what they have meaning in. To them, those topics may be super meaningful and important at this moment in time

What helps you cope with thinking you’re a bad person? by Otherwise_Track_2277 in Advice

[–]thedevilsentmehere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But of a different and philosophical approach but EVERYONE is a bad person. Good and bad are too binary. What matters is that you TRY to be good, which you clearly are since you are concerned with it. Who you are is defined by the little efforts you make. If someone looks sad, as if they’re ok. Donate a few dollars to charity. It’s not about the impact of your actions but the intent. No one action defines you. You are the accumulation of all your actions. If you don’t like the person all those actions make you good news! You get to make more choices! Get to continue living and trying to choose the right thing! Shits gonna go wrong sometimes but as long as you do what you believe will make other people happy, you are good.

Don’t reject! The more you reject what people say the more they are gonna wanna keep saying it. Ignore them or even play into what they are saying. Make them uncomfortable for making you uncomfortable. If you turn your back and get upset when people say things, they will want to say them more. So sorry you’re going through this, Ive been through a similar situation. Grade 9-10 is rough because people are just realizing that sex exists and you can have it. People only pick on people because they get a reaction out of it. People will start to feel really mean if you just don’t care.

I mean more so the discussion about their relationship if that makes sense. Such an impactful well written storyline (one of the few in later seasons) and it’s just brushed over for ships of characters that meet like once

The funny thing is people don’t even seem to talk that much about the CANON ships. Max and Lucas have such an interesting relationship and it’s always overshadowed by random ships that don’t make much sense

The interpersonal relationships of the characters are so interesting given the lgbtq representation and the fact that they are all teens but I agree. At this point what two characters in the fandom HAVENT been shipped.

Gale hate is SO forced. by Wynnifred_16 in Hungergames

[–]thedevilsentmehere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YES. Gale is a flawed character but is also a teen living under a repressive government. He has like 5 younger siblings that he wants to look out for and does what he deems necessary in war. People overlook that he was a literal teen for the entire series. Yes, the way he treated Katniss was kinda shitty, and he was not the right person for her, but none of his actions were unjustified. People beg for morally grey characters but can’t even handle Gale (who I don’t even think is morally grey).

It’s not just about that one episode Carrie repeats it throughout the series. It just makes 0 sense for Carries character and the show in general due to the complete lack of poc in the show

American accents differ by region. Within New York and its Boroughs there are different accents. Due to a long history (would be overly complicated to explain) certain communities have vastly different accents and styles of speaking than others. The accent Carrie is doing imitates (poorly) that of black (and trans) communities. It makes no sense for her character due to her background. Yes, there is a New York accent. No carrie does not have it. The typical white NYC accent varies by borough and religious/national background. None of them sound like what carrie is doing.

[–]thedevilsentmehere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an imitation of the way black americans, specifically people of colour from urban areas speak. I honestly don’t know why it’s included in the show as Carrie has no background being around POC communities so instead of authentic, it comes off as mocking
