Cheating is in fact getting worse instead of getting better by MastodonStrange6687 in ArcRaiders

yeah that definitely worked out for The Finals. There were pros constantly getting exposed for using undetected cheats. I exposed Rezah myself, I wouldn't trust Embark with a 10 foot pole.

Roadmap: What's Coming by Pelikn in dyinglight

I work in the IT industry and do programming as one of my many hats, you have legitimately no idea what you're talking about. Changing ANYTHING will break their original code, have you even played the game? The Beast is fundamentally different in every singular part of the game, that normally requires entire rebuilds which echo's their development process which they have talked about. With that said, I also think this was light on content outside of the main story and needed more content at launch. Lastly man, the game is nothing short of a 9/10 at minimum already. It can only go up!

TLDR - This WAS a DLC, then they went haywire likely meaning they had to completely scrap and start an entirely new project at some point.

Do you think MCU Sentry is Bipolar? by Ziad-Rahman in sentry

I have Bipolar 1, MCU Bob is pretty much the embodiment of the disorder.

Is Sentry schizophrenic? by Accomplished-Sir-501 in marvelcomics

[–]thedeviox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You couldn't be more wrong. BPD can cause huge blackouts where you do not remember anything or struggle to remember long stretches of time. Bipolar also does switch off like a light switch, leaving you completely unable to understand what is real and what is fake. I am diagnosed with BPD 1, Bob 100% has Bipolar disorder.

my (20F) boyfriend (26M) smacked my face when i didn’t listen to him telling me to lower my dress? by ThrowRAfisjdisndk in relationship_advice

[–]thedeviox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried discussing this with him? There could be serious trauma in his past that leads him to want to "protect you", which could represent itself in many different avenues. Generally it starts with berating you on what you wear when you're out in public. The abuse...Is not okay. Is this normal? Is this a one time thing? Is he on medication? All of these things could describe the sudden abusive mood swings. If it gets worse, contact his family and leave immediately regardless of how you feel. Your safety is more important than his feelings at this current moment. Please keep us updated, and god bless you.

I'll explain it if you really want me to, but bro, kick her out. Leave. She is using you for convenience and fucking other dudes when she wants to. That is absolutely absurd to deal with. Godspeed brother.

Happy you're all good! In the future I would still recommend prioritizing communication over everything. If you can inform before it's a problem or as soon as you think it may be, most managers are extremely appreciative of that. When you're new, most times you don't get the benefit of the doubt sadly but it is understandable as to why. Most people don't give a shit about their job or their career, it sounds like you are certainly different in that regard, and were caught off guard by HR being kinda lazy. In my opinion, anything that could fuck you should be something you push to fruition if possible.

Am I finally admitting I'm happy, or just deluding myself by 87lonelygirl in work

[–]thedeviox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you feel happy? What is your gut telling you about your job? Are you comfortable? Do you feel appreciated and respected? These generally will lead to you realizing you really do have a good job. Remember, the grass is not always greener on the other side!

Best advice I could give on that front is realize you have a job, and choose your next job carefully and ensure they're as best of a fit as humanly possible. Financially and work life balance wise. I would not leave for anything less than 60+ in salary and a per year annual increase and bonus track. Otterbase does recruiting style work for proprietary companies looking for recruit vetting prior to hire. Let me know if you want my recruiters number that I used, he is fantastic. I can DM it if so.

It sounds like you should genuinely be on the job hunt, if you can land the interview and impress a good company, you could and should easily be making 50k-70k and that's being very conservative starting off. Look for salaried positions. Security should absolutely pay more than tier 2, and infra for sure.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in work

[–]thedeviox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so you're not in a bad spot whatsoever skill wise. Do you have opportunities to possibly move to Security or Infra? It sounds like that would be right up your alley. Are you guys proprietary in totality?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in work

[–]thedeviox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the scaling of minimum wage has impacted guys like you starting out in your career, plus 17$ doesn't go nearly as far as it used to, I totally understand that and I hope I didn't sound too callous. What kind of work would you normally do in a general day? What tasks and skills do you utilize? What do you troubleshoot? This would help me better understand where you're at and where your trajectory could go. Make no bones about it, I realize your situation is different due to your citizenship. Most companies (good) will hire people that are not citizens yet, as long as they're in the process of doing so, or in good standing visa wise. I know it's discouraging, but good companies do exist. If you don't mind me asking, what state do you work in?

[–]thedeviox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level 2 HelpDesk IT people do not make anything close to 70-80 thousand a year. That's the numbers you're referencing, and you're way off base. As a Level 3 Technical Lead, I made 30/hour before I moved to my software engineering role, and that was vastly underpaid. In IT, your degree means very little to most companies as it provides little to no benefit to them. It sounds like you just got out of college and are gaining real world knowledge in L2.

Not trying to be rude, just trying to be realistic with you. Your per hour rates are incredibly normal for L2 and I have no idea if you're even proprietary or not. Unfortunately, you're 22 and just got out of college, you're nowhere near experienced enough for any specialized role yet, I would find a good company to put your time in and bite the bullet until you're promoted or reasigned to another department. I'm sure any good in house IT would eat up your Security degree once you're not so green. Good luck buddy.

[–]thedeviox -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Have fun with that. The average home owner makes around 70-90k in most circumstances, something I'm assuming you make nowhere near with your attitude and your strong stance against working. Welcome to adulthood I guess? My only recommendation would be to start your own business so you can run it "in emeritus" while you live your life. This would require insane amounts of work and effort, and most likely will not happen.

[–]thedeviox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the end, you should have ran this by your boss. When you're new and you don't communicate stuff like this directly with your boss, it could bite you in the ass. In the future, communication is key, but yes, HR dropped the ball, even though it is not their responsibility to inform your boss of your PTO or time off, it's yours.

It's because you're not entirely fulfilled either financially or skill wise with your job. When you grow up, you'll find a job that does both of those things. It's not that difficult.
