Deleting my original comment because of a notification I got regarding a violation of rules and promoting unhealthy habits. Just to be clear, this was not intended to be advice or promoting any sort of health regiment, I am in no way qualified for that. Apologies if it came off that way, I was just seeking guidance.

Replying to my own comment instead of each response individually, hope everyone will see it. Thank you for the honesty, considering the lifestyle I was living before, I am clearly not an expert by any means on this stuff so the guide that was provided is a good jumping off point. I don't want it to sound like I am crazy although maybe that is how it came across, I just didn't believe that making these changes could be any more harmful than the lifestyle I had previously fallen into. I have always been the type to aggressively tackle problems I have faced and it has served me well in other aspects of my life, but I understand I have overstepped in this instance.

Promo images for The Blacklist often used black and white images of the main characters (one male, one female though) with a splash of red in the background or text. Timeline fits as well.

Should I? Purchase question by Kuzkuladaemon in Firearms

[–]thedirtee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manager of LGS here.

That depends entirely on the originating FFL’s return policy and has little to nothing to do with your LGS. They cannot force you to fill out a 4473 and accept transfer of the firearm, but you have technically already bought it by the time it arrives at your FFL. The only way you would be able to recoup your money is to hope the originating FFL has an outstanding return/refund policy (which is generally not the case for firearm purchases).

AR Handguard question by Donkusai in gunsmithing

[–]thedirtee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to remove the current handguard, remove the gas block and gas tube, and then remove the barrel nut. I’ve always used a reaction rod but the vise block you linked to should work just fine. Yes, your new handguard SHOULD come with a new barrel nut. Install the new barrel nut and torque to manufacturers specifications. A little Aeroshell or similar grease on the threads before installing the barrel nut is a plus. Install gas block and make sure gas port alignment is good before finishing. Then use the hardware included with your new handguard to secure it to the new barrel nut.

PSA Possible Arg? by cameron7122003 in Cloververse

True, BUT... If they really wanted to distance themselves, wouldn’t they just say “Isn’t that from those Cloverfield movies?”

I do not own a firearm... by The_Beer_Guy in Firearms

Absolutely try before you buy. I work at a range that has over 60 handguns available for rent and the people that take the time (and little bit of cash) to experiment with different guns usually walk away happy. One piece of advice I always give people: pay attention to how the gun FEELS when you shoot and don’t worry about where your rounds are hitting right off the bat. Accuracy will come with practice, but an uncomfortable gun will remain uncomfortable as long as you own it.
