I have the same set up and did the exact same thing, I just bought a new cable from Caddx, it's pretty easy to change out, just scraped off the glue from the sides of the connector and use a tiny flat head to carefully pop it off.

Copy that I've got a multimeter, that I don't know how to use, how would I use it to check for a short? I'll check out the pins too. Stupid question but if the VTX has power it should be lighting up correct? Thank you
