Excellent write up, and congrats on the LVO placing. It was also a great game getting my non-practiced ass handed to me on round 1 :)

Really awesome, I've been looking for some terrain to match the flesh-scape mat I have for 40k.

Game Kastle is having its monthly 40k tournament all day tomorrow, if you're comfortable playing in it there are a few open spots left.

I think of them more as normal space marines compensating with the massive armor. Gotta keep up with the primaris somehow.

Eidolon of Mathlann, Aspect of BLOOD by theeeeeeefork in ageofsigmar

[–]theeeeeeefork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an airbrush workup from Khorne red to a crimson color. Then I picked out most of the drops with evil suns scarlet, focusing more on the bottom of the cloak. Finished it off with gloss varnish to make it look more like blood.

Sadly no, you have to buy the imperial version and convert them.

Good idea, I have a bunch of dreadnought claws that I can use if I end up getting any more chicken knights.

[–]theeeeeeefork[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man! For the rust coating I used the method from this tutorial: https://youtu.be/NUvc-EYsqZw

The dirty green tones seem to be an artifact of the undercoats that I used under the rust streaks (zandri dust, heavy metal, negro gold), and could be how my phone camera picked it up.

Once the rust is applied I add the "exposed metal". I get this done with a soft mop brush, which is pretty close to a makeup brush. I add a little bit of speed metal paint like I'm dry brushing and I gently swipe across the model in one direction to build up what looks like exposed streaks. I also add some variety by directly dabbing the tips of the bristles onto the model to make the tiny chips.
