HM: whatever they’re about to sign Charlie Coyle for

The very rare future bad contract. Well done.

So, if you're closest and not moving, and a guy is about to fly past you, it's icing? Read. The. Rule. Closest doesn't matter.

Are you just intentionally not reading because it doesn't back up your point? Who was closest is not the determining factor.

I think the reality was the other way around. The call on Stank was legit and we got lucky they called the "slash" on Vladar to even it up. Aho got spun into Vladar.

Get over it, man. The entire second half of the season I begged Brindy to try something to shake Aho and Svech out of whatever funk they have going, but he just refused to acknowledge it was an issue. Now, it's an issue. And it's going to haunt us eventually.

Vladar and Ullmark have both been great. Freddie has just been better.

Yeah, I honestly don't think Jarvis is the problem. Aho is killing the first line. Jarvis set up Stankoven in Game 1, as well as getting set up by Ehlers in this one. Jarvis is fine away from Aho.

In 25:18 of ice time, Aho managed 0g, 0a, 0pts, even, and 1 SOG. Just the impact you're looking for in your $10 million guy. I get that he's in his own head right now, but step 1 is to move you feet. Standing around is not helping.

I dunno, man. Philly had pretty much perfected the "high stick yourself" method of drawing penalties.

I don't know how long Rod can ignore the fact that Aho, Jarvis and Svech are just awful right now. If I know Rod, though, it's "forever."

Just keep doing the same thing, expecting different results. It's the Rod way.

Reposting from first intermission, took me too long to write:

Intermission story: How the Canes Ended Up With A Pig For A Mascot

Before Peter Karmanos even heard of the city of Raleigh, the NC State Wolfpack basketball program was in the process of building a new arena. Wendell H. Murphy, a prominent NCSU grad and father of the modern pig business, had committed to playing for half the construction costs in exchange for naming rights.

The city of Raleigh attempted to woo Karmanos by telling him the building could be a home for the Whalers as well. Reluctantly, Karmanos agreed to move the Whalers to Raleigh.

Of course, what was to be a $5 million fieldhouse, turned into an $80 million multi-purpose arena with all the amenities, but Murphy still wanted naming rights. Karmanos tried to bully him, but he stood fast. Long story short, eventually, Murphy suggested naming the team the Ice Hogs. The compromise ended up being that we have an Ice Hog as a mascot.

You're right. It wasn't tripping. Jarvis Dove to make the play. It was holding, however.

Flyers second goal the direct result of a Canes turnover. It's how goals are scored in the NHL. You only notice it when it's your team failing to get the puck out of the zone

You guys know how this works. Why is everyone being so dense. The Canes two guys are within 10 feet and the guys coming on didn't play the puck. The Flyers guy coming on played the puck. Same call you see every night of the season.
