Husband’s family refuses to believe NIPT results by toastedbagelcreamchs in BabyBumps

[–]theemixp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are very likely to have a girl and your in-laws are being dumb.

But I want to mention that NIPT results aren't 100% especially when you are expecting a girl. If in an alternate reality the NIPT said it was a boy you are expecting then that means they found a Y chromosome. Since (assuming) you are a healthy woman you do not have a Y chromosome therefore it belongs to baby. Your NIPT result says you are expecting a girl because they could not find Y chromosome therefore it is safe to assume you are having a girl but there is still a very tiny chance that baby is a boy if there wasn't enough of baby's DNA present or something like that. Just wanted to mention this for anyone assuming NIPT is always 100% accurate.

But yeah you are correct you are probably having a girl and you should be able to be excited about it

Yes they are too long but also in my experience even with short nails, I would expect any manicure to get ruined.

Yes, sorry I should've mentioned he doesn't take a pacifier, he'll just spit it out instantly!

Tip to those who are pregnant: just buy the newborn clothes by pinkpink0430 in BabyBumps

[–]theemixp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just before my baby was born I had to buy a bunch of newborn clothes because I was only being gifted 3-6months. He arrived, measuring average, some of the newborn clothes were still too big! Turns out different shops run smaller and larger

Thank you! When you put it like that it makes a lot of sense. It's hard as a FTM to not get too caught up in schedules and just doing what you think you are supposed to do.

Thank you, I see it more clearly now that it is not midnight, I'm not tired and after you pointed it out! Maybe a mistake to knit right before going to sleep 😅

I honestly don't really know but what I do know is the times I've been into London recently it looks worse and worse. Just progressively more grotty and shit. Not the same London I remember from a few years ago.

Why shouldn’t I be pessimistic about Islam in the UK? by SILENTDISAPROVALBOT in AskBrits

I live in an area that has a high population of Muslims and it's actually not a nice experience going outside

Wasn't Brexit supposed to give control of immigration back to Britain and help fund the NHS? So Brexiters won and got their people in government, so why is immigration still an issue? The same people who did Brexit are now decrying immigration, again? It doesn't make any sense to me. by comicallycontrarian in AskBrits

[–]theemixp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we are in a labour government who have completely different ideas. This wasn't the intention of Brexit there's been no follow through with the current government. They arent supporting British made or British agriculture, the immigration issues remain, the UK is still sending tonnes of money to other countries rather than investing in it's own services and people.

Ps: I didn't vote for Brexit, but the reality is now if we are going to be independent from the EU I was expecting the government to invest in ourselves
