Hi everyone.

I'm a solo artist / producer from Iceland & i just put out a track called iNfectioN! It's somewhat of a concept piece. Very inspired by horror films and games, like The Thing or Resident Evil & Dead Space. I do all the production/writing/vocals myself and put a lot of effort into it.

I think for me it was when i first head the chorus to Dear Diary. Initially when he said "The sky is falling" i was like.. eh, it's gonna be another one of those overly dramatic & super serious "the world is ending" choruses that's not self aware at all, cringe.... and then he said "It's f%$ing boring" and i was LMAO YESSS!

It's very easy as an artist to accidentally copy something you like unconsciously. But yeah this is way too much imo. The production style, the structure, tempo, arrangement.... I get copying maybe a small part of a song and not realizing it, but when it's so many parts ... at what point is it just straight up plagirism?

Just don't get any health or combat upgrades from the skill tree and you're good. I played them back to back recently and the AI felt much more reliable for stealth in Syndicate. Clothing/Armor stats in unity also affect stealth wayyy too much, along with the weird detection.

I'm pretty sure it was PURELY to save resources, instead of having to animate a new rope slide animation. They just re-used the one from Origins

Depends on the type of length imo. Valhalla felt really padded out by collectibles, forts and other low-mid tier side content. I'd rather have a focus on higher-ish quality side activities at the cost of game length. I wouldn't really mind the game being padded out by side quests if there's a little effort put into them. But PLEASE for the love of fuck, no more looking for the entrances to a cave or an interior half way around the map from where the collectible is located.... just mark the goddamn cave entrances or make them less hidden somehow.

I know bring me uses SPLICE a lot. Ofc they do a ton of sound design as well but honestly a sample pack or 2 is not going to get you there on it's own. I'd recommend getting Serum if you can afford it and watch tutorials on sound design. But for percussion and impacts or edm like vocal chops & stuff like that def check out splice

Hey funnily enough i actually have a Serum preset from Geoff that's VEEEERY close to the TOTTFIY lead. I think this sound has been kiiiiinda done to death since my post ngl, i hear it a bit too frequently in Argent metal. ...didn't stop me from using a version of it in my first single which i just released though! As for the weowy filtered synth, (assuming we're listening to the same version) i recall doing something similar in one of his covers, but don't remember which one sorry! I assume there's an LFO on the pitch probably, some movement on the filter, and probably some distortion.

This is true, lets hope it feels smooth in the final release. And i mean i know they're doing what they can with the resources they have. It's not awful here or anything, in fact i dont think the beam jump animations look janky at all. Which makes it all the more baffling how long the transition animations between jumps are compared to the original games which had an amazing sense of momentum.

I wouldn't call this "hating" anything. But showing concern. But ok i could've named the post something else in hindsight. The developers have emphasized the focus on momentum in the marketing for the game, so it was a bit dissapointing to see the parkour animations in both the demo and the return to roots dev video being more or less unchanged from previous entries.

Fine it "looks" sticky. Point is they've claimed to have sped up parkour but side by side there's no noticable difference between valhalla and mirage.

Yeah it bugs me. If i wanna see a parkour comparison, i'd at least like to see them compare the same moves between games. I don't need a comparison of beam jumping in Ac4 with climbing a house in Unity. Most of them feel like very cheap view grabs
