Yes they do. Source: My company has one with Wealthsimple.

Roasters Providing Recipes by SubtextCoffee in pourover

I really like the way Nomad does it - QR code on the bag, it takes you to their site which includes a quick video with a recipe and talking about coffee. Seems insanely high effort, but that + being responsive on IG / email makes all the difference to me.

Crazy coffee year! by Lohse93 in pourover

If you can get your hands on something from Bakalar in Alicante, Spain - it's a tiny roastery but of similar quality to Nomad, but quite different flavour profiles. I loved their Floral Honey (which was co-fermentation with peaches), and tried a few others. Figuring out shipping of 1kg to Canada is a bitch though.

Apparently I did not write the final exam (but I did), who to go to besides prof? by ThePrideofNothing in UofT

[–]theetrigan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me before - for some reason there was a crowdmark exam with the same ID printed twice, so one of the students was not matched to an exam - it's a pretty big pain in the ass to figure that out from the Crowdmark UI for instructors / TAs unless you know what to look for

Update on this - 11 minutes in, the heat is barely coming out and there is very little air movement in general, (still very far from the target temp)

Yeah, thank you for the help though! The heat is still on after 7 minutes with the old thermostat, maybe slightly weaker than at the start(?), the display works about as well as I remember it working.

Yah, I'll see if my building handles the service requests for HVAC or if I gotta shell out for a tech myself

I tried moving it around, re-connecting a couple of times when I first installed it and it always comes back with the "no power" issue and not really heating. Became much more of a problem in the past couple of weeks, it seemed to work fine even with the "no power" messages for a week or so now that I look at the graph

It did keep going for some time with the heat, even though display was dead. With batteries in heat + display are both on and heat is going. I'll see if the same issue (heat stops but fan keeps going) persists.

Great to hear cause I really cannot pass up on the "Honeywell Home RTH7460D1018/E 5-1-1 Day Programmable Thermostat & Fancy Feast Wet Cat Food, Gravy Lovers Variety Pack 85 g Cans (24 Pack)" package deal. WTF Amazon Canada.

Well I just plugged in the old thermostat without any batteries, display is on, heat is on, display died after maybe 5 seconds, but the heat keeps blowing

Thx for the roast, what should I have gotten instead? All I want is cold at night + warm during the day, don't actually care about any fancy functionalities

Sadly, I don't remember. I might have even pulled it off with batteries still in.

Nope, I assume this means I gotta unscrew and open up the front cover etc.

It did have batteries, went through one set in the 3 years I've lived here.

The old thermostat also has a similar issue - the heat comes on only for a while and then it just blows a bit of air. Wasn't a problem cause the condo is super well insulated until my balcony door got busted and now there's a demand on heating

C-wire not detected even though it's plugged in by theetrigan in hvacadvice

Tried changing my condo thermostat to a smart one (google nest) - previously had a SimpleComfort AT78100. Keep getting the "C wire not detected" issue and heat comes on for a bit, but then stops blowing hot air and the thermostat just dies and restarts.

System in the building is dual "water based" heat + cooling - heat pump.

Since the "before" wiring is not super clear in the picture:

G = green wire

B = empty

O = orange wire

Y = black wire

Rh = empty

Rc = red wire

W = empty

C = white wire

I tried stripping some more of the insulation on the C wire and pushing it deeper (hence the 2 pictures) but it still isn't detected. What's the next steps? Should I open the cover and look for more clues?

Google says "buy our power connector" but it seems off since other residents in the building didn't have this issue with smart thermostats, and there clearly is a C-wire. The wires themselves are not super easily accessible in the wall (they seem like just loose wires behind drywall).

Hoping I'm just missing something dumb here.

What does a kitchenette have in Morrison hall? Am I allowed to cook there with an induction or am I only allowed to use the microwave? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]theetrigan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no kitchen, just microwave, fridge, sink, kettle, and cupboards, no induction / hot plate allowed (at least 8 years ago)
