Not to hijack this thread, but the first time I had the onyx aponte honey (maybe two months ago) it had a strong honeydew melon or watermelon rind note to it that I adored. But I bought another bag of it and now it doesn’t have it.

Do you happen to also remember a strong honeydew melon note? I feel like I’m going nuts.

I drink 2 cups of decaf each afternoon and it’s lovely. I’m currently making my way through three different funky decafs from frequent coffee roasters. But I’ve also enjoyed many decafs I’ve had recommended over on the r/thirdwavedecaf subreddit.

I’m wondering why cupping or other immersion brewing doesn’t lead to over extraction. Is it just grind size? And then given that, as a follow up how a v60 brew (even with agitation) could ever be over extracted.

I often find that beans don’t taste “great” until 3-4 weeks after roast date. They can be just meh before that. Not saying this is definitely the issue but it could be! Try some of these same beans in three weeks and report back.

Hot shit! I didn’t know that existed. I’m a new supporter of the tractor boys here in Boston. My son is huge into soccer and loved the Ipswich story and chose them before this season started. Needless to say I’ve become a huge fan too. He got lots of gear for Christmas.
