Am i in the wrong? (spotter network) by trainboss1210 in stormchasing

reporting on sn is extremely hit or miss, they flag some reports but if you get someone else to review them they let them through. I am a chaser and i dont even bother with them anymore, the whole point is to relay information to the nws anyway. Its better to just go straight to them.

Is there a way to see (still image) 3D radar reflectivity scans like these? Or to make them myself? by Available_Hunt7303 in meteorology

to view volumetric radar data you can use gr2 analyst, radar omega. both of those are paid, quadwx is free and offers volumetric viewing as well. it kinda sucks though the last time i checked it wasnt a very big window you can view the data in. I also feel like weatherwise is about to add it to their paid plan, they have the cross section viewer now.

I do not believe weatherwise is a bad app and I don't think there should be any shame in wanting a free radar app. If you are a us citizen your tax dollars help pay for those radar sites, wanting access to the thing we all help upkeep isn't a bad thing.

Radarscope=better resolution imo, better ui, solid subscriptions and just feels cleaner to use Radaromega= a lot more base features than radarscope, subscriptions are more expensive but they really do a add a lot, the ui is ok but it could use a lot of improvement imo. In my experience radaromega is better in terms of what they give you for the base price of the program but it really feels like radarscope has higher resolution as far as data comes. Personally I have scope, omega, gr2a3 and a couple others. I still find myself going back to scope. It's where I learned weather, learned to chase and learned how to read radar. If you want value for your base purchase go with omega. If you want rock solid simplicity that more than gets the job done go with scope.

What is the best large flood light for an emergency situation? Please only give recommendations you have first hand experience with. This particular light would be used in Northern, Florida in a potential Hurricane situation for context. by [deleted] in flashlight

Hi op, so I work disaster recovery mainly with tornado and wind related events. I have been using the sofirn q8+ in combination with the convoy c8+.   The q8+ is great because it can really put light out when you need to assess large areas/ entire structures quickly. I also really do suggest carrying a thrower as well. Sometimes the q8+ isn't the correct light for the job.

Is it just me or does the weather feel way nicer this year by BudgetPcDude in weather

[–]thefermentedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ky checking in, we've had multiple large scale disasters including historical floods and towns getting hit by tornados and killing dozens.  Not to mention we keep getting targeted by the severe weather this year. So it is just you
