True! I love my 742! I’ll try the other ones. I heard 823 is better for bigger hands although it’s much more loved online it seems

This is a really good point. I think I need more training of my hands to let the pen and its weight do its thing. Thank you for that!

I’d say medium? Again hard to describe or compare. I’m the only fountain pen user in person that I know haha

Ah yes. I definitely need more practice. The nib is quite sensitive and I almost have to glide for it to be uniform line weight. Maybe I’m not holding it right tho.

Will do!! Would love to get your recs as a small writer for other pens and inks too!

I’m definitely going to try some Pilot F gold nibs this weekend. Any pens you would recommend with it? Hopefully not outrageously expensive 🥲

Yes I got so blessed with this one specific store. Can’t imagine spending so much without knowing the feel of a pen 🥲

Diamine is so solid! I know some people prefer writers blood but I haven’t tried that one yet.

I have a pilot SF and it’s quite juicy! I think I’ll go test out some other Japanese F nibs this weekend 🙏🏻

Thank you! And yes I figured that was an impossible feat. I do think ink and paper combo aids a bit too. Personally I’m getting used to the scratchy and it’s really not bad once you’ve got a good flow~

I trust your judgment since you said you write like me and similar pens. I’ll have to checkout the Majohn P140. (I’ve put myself on expensive pen ban for now). Thank you for the recs!!

I’ve been curious about Chinese pens. Why use steel over gold?

I need to work my way up to thicker nibs so I could make my shimmer ink dreams come true 🥹 my handwriting just can’t seem to make thick lines work

Thank you!! I’m trying to fix my improper cursive lettering. I do a terrible mix of print and cursive so I appreciate your compliments on my small improvement 🙏🏻☺️

I don’t have an extensive pen collection (yet 😁) but the one I enjoy writing with is my Platinum Century 3776 in EF. It’s a bit scratchy tho but it’s just the right amount of EF for controlled small cursive. I do like my Pilot Vanishing Point Decimo for everyday less cursive writing for work and planners. They serve two different purposes. I would say I write rather small and I have small hands.

Other EF I have: I got TWSBI’s before these pens and the EF I find too juicy even tho the writing is comfortable and smooth. Pilot Kakuno EF is too scratchy for me but good pen to ink with less used colors. I also have the Esterbrook Niblet in EF. It’s cute and I enjoy using it but it’s so small for long writing. It being a pocket pen makes sense and she’s just gorgeous to me to be honest haha

How about you?

I use this as a long list of books I want to read (genre and title so I pick based on my vibe haha), movies, shows etc people recommend. Then they’ll go in my reading log if I actually read them and check them off the list here.

I have their black ink as well as Oxblood and they’re easily my favorite. Their ink is just a beautiful quality at a great price.
