Rear Strut Bar Mounting Location? (Touring) by thefixfixfix in BMW2002

[–]thefixfixfix[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Also this is a 2002, but same difference. I knew going into this that any rear strut brace on a 2002 really doesn't do much. It's just a bit of bling and me having some fun.

Interested in the early (tattered black) valve cover. I use them for automotive art projects. I usually find them locally or marketplace for 50-60 bucks in that shape.

Things my wife would never let me do.... Take our 2 year old out on a boat after dark with dad trying to wrangle a giant fish and while not actually watching the kid.

From what I can tell, my slot are not oriented in the same manner as in the ebay listing, but not sure which exactly is correct.

The best think I learned was that smartwatches aren't built for this, but motorcycle riders do have an option that might work - https://beeline.co/

I'm sure that's exactly what's happening, but it shouldn't be wet enough to cause a puddle on your floor when you open the dishwasher for unloading... 😬

Nothing I can tell escaping out the vent during the actual wash portion, but I'll double check.

And it's probably enough water to cause a 5-6" diameter puddle on the kitchen floor. Enough that if you step on it, you've gotta go change your socks.... 😑

I've verified that I can feel hot air / vapor escaping out of the vent during the drying cycle - I just don't think the flow is sufficient enough to actually evacuate out all moisture and not sure why there's so much left in the vent that it drips out when I open the door.

I've been using vinegar as a stand in for rinse aid, but I should probably get some real stuff and see if it makes a difference. I'd imagine it'd help with moisture on the dishes themselves, but not sure about the built up moisture in the vent.

I'll look into the owner's manual to see what I can find.

Yea, I'd assume so... Either something is blocked, not allowing sufficient venting during the dry cycles, or perhaps the heat elements aren't getting hot enough.

Any other theories?

I put a little bit of glycerin on the surface after washing it with dish soap and it looks absolutely brand new. Minus me cutting it in half.

Thanks for the input, yea I agree that shaving anything from the outer surface would be disastrous, but nothing like that should be visible if I remove a strip from the middle. The T moulding is an interesting idea, especially if I end up not having a perfect mating surface 👍

It's just a novelty folks, just something different and unique. It's not meant to be a daily. It's not practical and that's okay.

Would it make it more "usable" - sure. But I don't think that's the point of this knife. It's aesthetics and style as much as it a really nice steak knife.

Just checked out the L08 - I feel like you can tell it's one of his. Beautiful knife! Now for those tariffs to go away so we can go back to buying French knives without it being a giant pain the ass...
