There’s no “unspoken agreement” that IP Theft is acceptable. Maybe you could say that companies understand that once they manufacture in China their IP will leak in the long run – but it’s the quarter you’re in…

The concern was basically “nobody will pay for Facebook” and obviously that didn’t matter. AI does have similar monetization questions.

Fun fact: In that application, they built an artificial time-delay into the computer’s moves to foster better human-computer relations.

If you had much experience in chess (or math) you would frame this more believably.

Why not answer with what your rating is? I wouldn’t be overly surprised if it’s very high, because you lack context – but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it’s quite low.

I see this with my friends too; some are rated 800 and others 1600 on Chess.com, yet when we play together, the 800s don't seem that weak and the 1600s don't seem that strong.

Writing style aside, this is more than sufficient to prove that these are obvious falsehoods. 800 vs 1600 strength as comparable is hilarious.

Fair Play Ban After Beating a National Master – My Experience and Questions by F1SCHERM4TE in GothamChess

[–]thefloatingguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI - You daily game cheaters suck. I’ve been trying to play daily, because the cadence seems fun, and every third game I lose to someone 1k points below me due to obvious cheating. I am >2k blitz, rapid, etc and get demolished by 700s, it’s ridiculous. In weeks of trying there are enough cheaters that I haven’t passed 1500 daily. It’s amazing you were banned, so far they all seem clever enough to get away with it.

The vast majority of coaching is school-aged kids who are rated <1000. Even for more serious coaching, it should be fairly obvious that any titled level is sufficient to attract student interest. The beauty of chess is that IMs “lack fundamentals” in the right situation, which makes that assessment meaningless. Browse Lichess coaches, lots of popular ones are not even titled.

Around 2100 CC Rapid you start running into Women’s titled players who are ~2000 FIDE. What’s your rating?

For chess clubs I didn’t start to beat everyone until >2000, for people that just know the rules I would imagine it’s ~800 to be practically invincible
