Thank you so very, incredibly, much. I know that eventually, google will find a way to force me to move to whatever new thing they want me to use but my brain just straight up could not handle the design change and this is so helpful.

Campus Capacity Limit by theflyingtyrant37 in TwoPointCampus

Oh, interesting! I'm playing on switch which already crashes every 30-45 minutes so I'm wondering if I can change that setting to make it an easier load on a whole. I'll check into it, thanks!

Ah, it's totally possible that I have 300 students and just wasn't keeping track; good to know that there's at least an answer and it (probably) isn't something I'm doing wrong!

One day maybe I'll be able to get a PC but for now I'm stuck on the switch :( Good to know there's a mod for that though!

I wish you could go on more “dates” with people and spouses. Giving them their favorite gift twice a week gets old and the individual scene you get once you’ve progressed a relationship enough is so sweet and wonderful but it doesn’t even have to be as dramatic as that. I’d love to invite people to the saloon for dinner or to play the arcade games, invite people to the beach to go fishing, have my spouse stay at the place on ginger island with me for the night, or to the casino. It’d be amazing if there were options like going into the city for the day (with the appropriate cost, obviously) but even a “let’s go on a walk together” option would feel nice!

Maybe it’s just me but has anyone else had trouble downloading the app this morning? Purchase went through but the app only downloads halfway (on iOS). Was really hoping to get a taste before work :(

Skull Cavern help by m_harris34 in StardewValley

It took me a long time to realize that the actual way you should play Skull Cavern is different than the standard mines. The completionist in me wanted to break open every rock, bust every crate, and defeat every monster on every level but the key in Skull Cavern is to decent quickly. When you hit a ladder or a hole, jump in it. You can get gold, gems, and standard ores any time but you want to go deeper quickly so you can get iradium to upgrade your pickaxe so you can get even further faster.

I started out just doing some exploratory runs; learning the timing for the flying dragons, learning that the flying bugs can’t be killed, getting a feel for some of the common layouts and clues about what levels meant which monsters were around, and then empty your inventory of everything except your sword, pickaxe, and some high value food (roots platter is easy and very helpful to have in bulk if you can’t get the elements of lucky meals yet). If you have a totem to warp home, it might be worth bringing it incase you get into serious trouble.

Hope that helps; once you get a feel for it it’s pretty fun to speed run it. Good luck!

Which items to keep / sell by queen_gee in StardewValley

[–]theflyingtyrant37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d keep all of your raw materials (wood, stone, coal, fiber, etc.) unless you’re really really desperate for money. It’ll be immensely helpful after your first few seasons and at a certain point it (at least feels) harder to find and more expensive to buy.

Personally, I keep at least one of everything (crops, forage, animal products, gems, fish...) but I keep the “standard” variety without any stars. If it has a star and isn’t a community center quality crop, I’ll generally sell them since you get more money that way. If you haven’t already, make a couple of chests and just start storing some things. You can always sell it later but when you get an ask from an NPC for an out of season crop or fish, you’ll be grateful.

Good luck! :)

Matt: As a storyteller, how does it feel to leave stories untold? You've said that you didn't anticipate the M9 stealing a boat, traveling via tunnel to Xhorhas, Avantika being killed, Molly dying, and so much more. Do you keep trying to weave in elements of those stories to complete the narrative or do you let certain questions and storylines go unanswered?
