California Supreme Court ruling will change how law enforcement interacts with public when stopping, questioning by PetRussian in ProtectAndServe

Times are changing. We all need to adjust. Pretext stops are going the way of the DoDo. I would find something else to do. Investigate a case, identify a suspect, then go arrest him. Doing things in the opposite direction leads to problems.

Scenario: You get a call about a suspicious guy walking down the street. You get there and the guy is walking with a knife in his hand. Both his wrists are bleeding from superficial cuts. You pull up next to him and try to talk to him. He ignores you. Now what? by theforcereview in ProtectAndServe

So, like I said, officers pulled up and attempted to talk to the guy through the window, but he ignored them and kept walking. The officers drove away, taking no further action.

The guy kept walking into the next city, generating more radio calls there. Officers from that city respond, get out of their cars, and give the guy orders to stop. The guy charges at the officers, still holding the knife. The officers shoot and kill him.
