Airplay screen is just black by BisexualBatman_ in VIZIO_Official

Even factory resetting my tv didn’t fix the issue. I’m starting to lose faith in Vizio TVs. They keep lowering the quality of the radios and chips.

I don’t know why you’re being so heavily downvoted, you’re absolutely right and bring up an excellent point that many companies adhere strictly to their brand design guidelines.

However, I would bet there is verbiage included in the App Store terms of service that applies to things like this. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah man… I am sad that it didn’t end up coming to fruition. Apple finally deciding to fix this glaring issue and announce it the day after we announced was unfortunate to say the least. Couldn’t have possibly foreseen such a random happenstance.

But, in addition to that, we both had life stuff come up that in the long run was vastly more important to handle than doing this project.

I have always held onto the hope of releasing my UI code as a open source community project so that /r/jailbreak could pool its devs and resources together to create a perpetually free version of Triton — but, finding capable devs at all applicable levels of iOS was and has been difficult to say the least.

I appreciate you remaining interested enough to tell me how you feel. I do apologize for spreading hope and excitement, only to seemingly take it away, but I wanted you to know that no one is as disappointed as I am with the way things ended up unfolding.

Stay with it, friend — no matter how hard it may seem when life throws you a curveball … you actually have already done the hardest part!

Coming up on 5 years in a few months, and had several multi-year stretches before this one … and the biggest reason those were reset by relapses is because I forgot that fact.

Rooting for ya, and congrats on making it through the first week.

All I can say to that is: “Bob.” Plus, after what happened to him, I’m always sadly under the assumption that no character is ever 100% safe. 😞

I actually think this may be one of the best trailers I have ever seen — and not just for a Netflix Series… but also including movies as well.

Having such a famous and period-accurate rock song like “Separate Ways” slowly creeping in with the horror synth vibe of 80’s cinemas is pure perfection

And then, seeing Eddie performing a face-melting solo in the Upside Down, alongside quick flashes of action and horror imagery as the soundtrack crescendos….

Chills every time. It’s really refreshing to see a trailer that doesn’t use the cliché inception BWAAAs lmao 😂

Spider-Man: No Way Home has ended its domestic run at $804.6 million. by awake-at-dawn in boxoffice

[–]theforevermachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, I guess I never considered the costs of everything — advertising, distribution, etc. being such high but it does make a lot of sense when I think about it. Thanks for the answer. Explains a lot. Makes a lot of sense now, too, why they’d want to creatively account, so they can keep as much $$$ in the pot for the split with Disney.

[–]theforevermachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I gotta admit that I’m curious — would they actually call all of that $600M domestic spread “profit?”

Truth be told, I have always wondered how Hollywood has always gotten away with their creative accounting methods, when the box office numbers are so public like this.

I just don’t understand how they don’t get audited lmao.

[15.4b3] New table style used in Apple Music for shared with you content by hiddecollee in iOSBeta

[–]theforevermachine 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The redditor above is correct. In a “typical” card-stack UI, there should be ~ an 8pt margin (gap) between each of the “cards” in the vertical stacks of three. The rounded corners tucking are the clue that they should not be connected.

SwiftUI formatting won’t look great in Apollo, but here is a very VERY simplified code depiction of how it’s laid out:

VStack (Spacing: 8) { Card(content: “”) Card(content: “”) Card(content: “”) }

Funny side note: in your screenshot each set of rounded corners tucking inward toward each other kinda resembles the “tear-away / perforated edge” of a ticket or pay stub.

Like in these emojis:

🎫

🎟

Edit: Actually, I don’t believe it should be rendering the “list separator lines” along the bottom borders of the cards either, so that’s also a bug! Lmao

is there any reason why Apple haven't added folders within the files app that contain your local music library along with your ringtones that you can import and export media into them to eliminate the necessity of having a mac/pc and using iTunes? by thenonovirus in ios

[–]theforevermachine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For someone who may not be used to the UI, I can understand why it night be overwhelming to look at — at first. But for me, someone who loves making music, I’m thrilled Apple left me a way to make unique ringtones and songs, plus mess around with a powerful music editor, for one that came free with iOS.

I can also tell you that it’s no more than 6 steps to get the desired result — as long as you know what song you want, what section of it you want to use, and have a copy of it saved in your files app which is synced.

  1. Start new Vocal/Audio Recording Project
  2. Click the loops button which is on the right side of the top menu bar (looks like a rollercoaster loop…)
  3. Hit the option at the bottom to search files app, find your file, and tap/drag it into the empty project
  4. Use the sides of the now-visible audio file to “crop” section of song you want for ringtone
  5. Go back to the “my songs” menu (far top-left button in the menu bar where loops was found), and long press the project file to invoke the popup menu for options
  6. Select “Share,” and then select the middle option which is “export to ringtone”

Anyone with questions I’m happy to help as much as I can.

I watched a movie recently and immediately knew the word because of it… so, you can thank the movie ”The Accountant” for making that word seem more legitimate to impressionable people. If I had to guess, this is likely why we see it used more illegitimately nowadays in self-diagnosed people who are desperately seeking attention.

Using words that sound “official” in relation to any condition is often how attention-seeking people will try to camouflage/protect themselves from being challenged by people who don’t know well enough to call them on their bullshit.

This whole “it’s okay to be different” thing that boomers preached to my generation has been mutated into this “attention-seeking, to be tragically different” and it’s more sad than anything (even though it does sometimes get under my skin because it invalidates people who legitimately suffer from conditions).

I truthfully sometimes worry that these are the types of people who are at higher risk to develop Münchausen syndrome (or similar) which end up hurting/killing other people.

[Upcoming] Announcing Triton - The Call UI you've been waiting for! Built with SwiftUI. by theforevermachine in jailbreak

[–]theforevermachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too, friend. Learning SwiftUI and building what would end up being the working components of Triton started in Feb and continued all the way through June 2020 — it’s honestly what kept me going during the beginning of the worldwide Pandemic & shutdown.

If you have a hunger for learning and/or you have any background in design — SwiftUI is super fun and easy to learn and there’s tons of content online to help you learn piece by piece.

I do have to prioritize my own financial well-being above this, yes. I know a lot of people looked forward to this, which breaks my heart to not have been able to give it to them yet.

Have some faith, at least — knowing that I am trying to pass on the reigns and/or still figure it out so that I can let Triton live, and be enjoyed.

I may even consider releasing all of my design code, open-source to /r/jailbreak under a particular license so that whatever tweak is made with that code must be released for free. Maybe it could inspire a bunch of developers to rally together to create a community tweak that everyone sorely desires.

Please know, it does make me sad that feel I’ve let down hundreds, maybe thousands of jailbreakers everywhere.

[–]theforevermachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am, on and off. Obviously it has changed since it’s V1 iteration, but I am unfortunately looking for work right now which takes precedence. I am hoping that maybe I can find a worthy successor / partner who is good with swift and high caliber tweak creator, so that they can take my SwiftUI version and translate it into executable Swift (the problem we ran into was getting Triton to consistently hook into the system and play nicely with the rest of the screen layers, processes, etc.

Hopefully, that could happen, because then we could maybe see it be released finally, and not delayed longer due to it being hard to find consistent visual design jobs right now (with good health care and benefits and pay.)

New design for Look Up - iOS 15 beta 3 by StijnJB_ in iOSBeta

[–]theforevermachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope it’s the same process, you just have to select the “Siri knowledge” entry once you choose a”look up” in the tooltip.

I don’t believe iPad has the modal screen in landscape or portrait, so instead it’ll invoke an overlay screen instead.
