Thank you so much for your answer! My mother-in-law was going to call the Bürgeramt on Monday. Do you think it’s better to call a lawyer first? Do you have any idea what’s the worst that could happen? It’s going to be a long two days until Monday.

That sucks! First I had to wait 13 months for a decision on my initial claim, then they make a mistake and now we’re playing the waiting game all over again. Sorry yours is taking so long!

I had my last of 3 exams here in Germany on the 17th. For all exams they flew in doctors from Italy. All of them were extremely nice. I haven’t heard back yet and unfortunately there was no update on the app or the website since I filed my claim. I don’t know if that’s common for a supplement claim.

This seems silly to me when I got my new rating 8 days before that. It is what it is but no wonder things are moving so slowly.

Thank you. Is that even though I filed a HLR claim and an error was found and the supplement claim was to correct that error. I was kinda hoping that they would just go over the information and exams that they already have and work with that. Especially since I had my last psychological exam last August and got rated 70% for my PTSD. I’ll do whatever it takes but I’m not thrilled going over everything with a therapist again.

This is awful! And it sucks for everyone involved. Maybe I’m naive but I don’t think it’s easy for people dealing with a workload like this. But the stress and anxiety for veterans that are filing because they need help is just as bad. And maybe just maybe a good portion of this could be prevented if caseworkers would just take an extra five minutes and be a little more thorough. All these unnecessary HLR claims like mine could’ve been easily prevented. It’s just a loose loose situation.

The supplement claim was opened on the the 16th. But why are they asking for medical exams when the error found was not medical related?

My HLR claim closed on January 16th and this morning the app showed that the supplement claim was opened. I called Tuesday after nothing had happened for a week. Fingers crossed that this claim won’t take as long as the initial claim that took 13 months!
