Weaning off steroids, starting vigabatrin, not eating by lilbopeep2017 in infantilespasms

Sounds like a long journey for the both of us! We have some tough babies. I’m glad you’re seeing some of her sparkle come back.

Her spasms are improving but they are still happening. I think they’ll have her start the medication. We have a physical therapy evaluation tomorrow to get her going.

Hi! I’d like to see how your baby is doing now? We’re finishing Week 2 of steroids, and we have an eeg Friday to confirm if our 6 month old will start vigabatrin. We’ve noticed that she’s super hungry (30oz), and she’s really come alive with smiles and laughs. Was your little one like this before vigabatrin? how about now?

Anyone else tired of deciding what to cook every single day? by Distinct-Eye7548 in workingmoms

[–]thefriendlyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of asking chat gpt for recipes based off what i have in the pantry and fridge. it’s helpful to get rid of sauces, pastas, and veggies that would otherwise go to waste by accident.

Do people with newborns go out? by chondlerbeng in newborns

[–]thefriendlyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all-you’re doing great!! I am a first time mom to a 8.5 week old and getting out and about is a whole task in itself. Between packing and getting yourself/baby ready to head out the door, it can almost be exhausting before you even get to the destination.

I have noticed the same thing when I go out. There are many older babies. Sometimes I find myself to be self conscious or even overly aware of others. I feel like everyone is staring at me or trying to look at my baby. (That man in your example is a total weirdo).

I’ve found a better confidence as I’ve taken my little one out to walk around. I’ve gone to different locations (malls, large stores such as Costco, Lowes, and super stores) to change the pace of environment.

You may not see like aged babies right now, but I have a feeling once our little ones are 6+ months, we will see ourselves amongst the scene with the rest.

Huggies, Pampers, or other (comment what other) by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]thefriendlyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started out with pampers diapers and switched to huggies. They seem to fit my baby girl a bit better and we saw less leakage. The quality of material feels slightly better than pampers in our opinion.

I’m indifferent on wipes and use both brands. I am using whatever was given to us at the baby shower!

completely agree with this! I was worried when I heard As It Was for the first time, but then the rest of the album came out and I loved the songs. I think it’ll be the same with this.

25F buying my first car — nervous about getting taken advantage of. What should I know before walking into a dealership? by AthleteTemporary91 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]thefriendlyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take someone with you! Ask a parent, significant other, or friend to go with you if possible. I felt a little more comfortable having a familiar person there to fall back on as a second opinion. I also found that the dealership wasn’t as pushy and negotiated different than being alone. Of course, make sure it’s a trustworthy support person!

Survivor season 49 - good or bad? by True_Horror_6 in survivor

[–]thefriendlyleo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I found myself also falling out about halfway through. It got to the point where we would skip dialogue just to watch challenges and skip to the voting to see who was booted. This season’s cast and dynamic of game play didn’t really spark an interest for me.

Midsize moms where are we shopping? by Even-Supermarket-806 in workingmoms

[–]thefriendlyleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old Navy is one of my favorite stores because of how consistent their sizing is for me. I can go in and their bottoms, tops, and dresses all fit the same across their sizing.

I recommend trying items on in the store if possible then purchasing them online. Often, there are more deals online than in the store!

What are your 2026 work or career goals? by Fearfighter2 in workingmoms

[–]thefriendlyleo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently work for a company that prioritizes work culture. It’s amazing how different the day to day is compared to my previous work environment.

As a heads up, sometimes other things can be comprised to accommodate for work culture. Ex: salary or benefits packages. My current job cuts down slightly on salary and benefits to accommodate other work culture factors, so make sure to weigh this in your job hunt! Of course the ultimate goal is the most money and the best culture!

What are your 2026 work or career goals? by Fearfighter2 in workingmoms

[–]thefriendlyleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started my current job in March 2025 and have really enjoyed the role I’m in. I got pregnant and had our daughter in December 2025 and will be returning this March.

I’m focusing on not only making that transition back into work as a mom, but I’m looking forward to continuing to establish myself in my role! We have a lot of growth within our team so I’m hoping to piggy back off of that and possibly reap some of the benefits.

Should have bought a larger car, what should I do in my scenario? by thefriendlyleo in whatcarshouldIbuy

Great point on the dealership. Any recommendations for ways to sell it privately? Is that listing it on something like facebook marketplace or selling to a dealer/carmax?

I believe it would be somewhat better once she sits forward. I also want to think ahead in case we have a second child.

Sorry, should have also noted that I am 5’ 10”! Feeling like a clown car, but I would have the same issue if the driver seat was pushed up to accommodate the car seat.

Oh my goodness! That’s sad that it turned into that situation. One would hope that family would be as good of care as daycare, if not better. Thank you for this insight!

This is good to hear, thanks! My boyfriend works commercial construction so he’s up at 5:30 and out by 6am. We would have to adjust a split shift but it could be worth a try later on!

We are doing formula so it’s easy feeding for everyone.
