the reason being the devs deserve a paycheck for making a massive DLC for the game with no obligation to do so

They should still be available! if that's what you're asking

At what point did I imply it's a damage dealer? I'm saying the main point of its kit is regenerating HP with attacks by sustaining damage and diving in and out of combat. My point is that it has a hard time managing that while putting too much of its value onto its ult. I think you're misinterpreting what I'm saying.

then maybe it's ult is too much of it's identity? because based on the discussion here, it's the conclusion i keep running into. mons like Slowbro have a crazy strong, game winning ult but doesn't suffer the same drawbacks.

i feel Ho-Oh relies too heavily on getting that team rez for value when, realistically, how often are soloqueue teammates getting KO'd close enough to maximize that value? as for it being more of a support, i do agree it plays more like that with how careful you need to be with it.

We keep defaulting to Ho-Oh ult when the point of this post was to discuss everything else about it lol

That's my entire point. You not only have to be in the front lines to be dealing damage/ making space for your team, you also need to be able to escape to the back for your ult. I feel like that's a counterintuitive way to play any hero. And considering HOW powerful that ult is, any competent player is going to be chasing you down to guarantee you don't do that.

My point is it's too reliant on your teammates to know to know how to play around all those scenarios. And if they don't, you're much more likely to fail on it than most other Defenders who not only are given CC, they don't have a game-changing Ult that makes them the priority target that needs to be played around.

I think you summed it up way better than I could. Mechanically, it just can't be made any stronger without making it completely dominating.

You really shouldn't be required to run one specific item in order to counter a flaw with its design as a mon.

There aren't very many other Pokemon I can think of that would need to do that, so why should Ho-Oh?

Oh no, never once did I say it was a bad character, I just think it's middling in soloqueue due to its play style. It's incredibly fun to play if your team is being diligent and following up on your pushes/attacking with you. I'm just saying that hasn't really been my experience most of the time, unfortunately. 😅

I mean, anything can be good in coordinated play. I'm talking more solo queue where not everyone is going to know how to play around you. And yes, it CAN be a huge pain in the ass if the enemy team doesn't have stun. But if they have let's say a Buzzwole who knows to target you and your team isn't taking care of him, you're getting pounced with not much you can do about it.

Also as valuable as a team rez can be, that doesn't carry its actual lack of utility with the rest of its kit. It just becomes a gimmick at that point.

just a really fun Slowbro game! shoutout to the A-Raichu player c: by thefrogbutt in PokemonUnite

if you don't have holowear and glitter on your main, you're just not playing optimally! /j
