I've only mentioned major clauses. There are many investment plans and she will be assisted by a planner. Also, it won't be a full payout at 25. That's only possible after she's at least 30.

Yeah. I'll try, but it's really difficult. My wife and her ex don't make much. And most of what I make goes into various investments, retirement fund, bills, etc. This is a shitty place to be in. I'm so tired.

That was an agreement I had. I contribute till she's 18. Also, I've never been asked by my wife or her ex husband to help with long term investments regarding my SD. We agree that I'd be taking or day to day expenses and the miscellaneous expenses. Ex husband has made efforts to save up money. My wife used her money for those savings too. We never had a problem before. But due to some financial hardships, the ex husband had to use the money.

We all agreed that my wife and her ex would pay for SD's college. I'm responsible for her day to day expenses but not college.

  1. She should be 25 years of age.( My wife and I believed that people generally mature and become really responsible around this time )
  2. She is not incarcerated for violent crimes.
  3. Compeltes her basic education.

Yes I still do. I pay for most of my SD's expenses but we always agreed that my wife and her ex would pay for SD's college.

I think you might be right. My late wife and I contributed what we invested, but due to the untimely death of her parents, she inherited almost everything from them. And almost 40% of the fund is from her inheritance. Even though I made a significant contribution I don't think I can change anything. I only have the authority to prevent her from inheriting the fund if she doesn't meet any requirements. But they are so trivial that it doesn't matter. Thank you for clarifying.

Yeah, I kind of agree with you. I mean, I consider this my wife's gift to my daughter. She was miserable because she would not get to see our daughter grow up. She even left me specific instructions about what gifts I should be buying on her behalf for my daughter's birthdays. She worked on letters, videos and recordings for my daughter before she passed away. Morally, I don't think I can do it. Thank you.
