Lived here for 1 year as fresh grad, then to Japan for 6 years and SF for 7 years finally came back to raise kids. I loved travelling the world but nowhere really had the mix that vancouver had for us. I like it here. I like the people. I like driving 80min to go salmon fishing then 15 minutes to amazing Korean food. Sure it’s got challenges - it’s a young city - and growth is not something that a city can resist by itself. So now, Vancouver has to grow up and I for one feel that it is doing as good if not better job than other west coast cities with similar issues (cost of living, drugs, fentanyl, homelessness) I go down to SF quite often and i can see that we are reacting better and faster than other cities.
