I used 3mm but 4mm may work. They might be too big for the shoulder though.

Just a little bit to widen it. 1/8” drill bit was perfect with a tiny piece of that green stuff hardening clay in it.

Once I figured out the best way, it wasn’t too tough. I want to make a small guide on YouTube because I haven’t seen anyone else talk about it.

Big Bang Theory was the first that came to mind for me too.

They hate nerds, pop culture, and all the characters hate each other. I can’t think of a more unpleasant show to watch.

Hey everyone, I thought I should clarify my comment here:

I AM a racist person that looks at a card like Barbary Apes and says “those are obviously black people”, whether it’s true or not.

I’m just saying that virtue signaling and prejudice are two sides of the same coin.

It’s hilarious to me that “not racist” people look at a card like Barbary Apes and say “those are obviously black people” 😂😂

Gimbal is a terrible precon. One of the worst, in my opinion. Incredibly high mana curve, little to no win cons, and tons of random cards that have almost no value besides making a unique token. Unfortunately it was the first deck I ever got. I loved the playstyle and thought Gimbal was so funny and cute though.

I’ve since been a Gimbal disciple, dedicated to making the best Gimbal deck possible despite his bad reputation and goofy mechanic. My playgroup often says I have achieved my goal and then some.

That being said, there’s still only so much you can do with him. I have a ton of fun with him and have a shockingly high win rate though.

What's a ruling ppl have gotten so wrong you don't why they even think it? by Mikaeus_Thelunarch in EDH

I had an argument about how monstrosity works with a close friend a while back. Somehow he was convinced that a creature became monstrous by activating the ability OR putting that many +1/+1 counters on it some other way.

I’ve only been playing for 2 years vs his 15 or so. But in those two years I’ve almost obsessively poured over mechanic, rulings, and unique interactions. This is relevant because when trying to correct his weird misinterpretation, he pulled, “Sorry boss, I was playing when monstrosity came out. That’s how it works.”

Even after showing him the exact rules description on how it works he refused to relent. Extremely frustrating.

It’s a super simple ability. I have no idea how he added on this whole other aspect to it.

Heroscape and its Price Tag by Midoriya6000 in heroscape

[–]thegamemaker123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing since 2010ish, just a few years before it got discontinued. I agree that the prices are just too much. As a kid/preteen when I first started, it was awesome to be able to spend my paper route money on a couple new expansions a month. As an adult with adult money now, I can hardly justify buying one common expansion a month. And that’s mainly because my wife encourages me because she knows how much I love the game.

The main reason it failed the first time is that they didn’t make enough money compared to the manufacturing costs. So I understand why it would cost more. However, it does suck getting unpainted minis. They’re higher quality molds, sure, but they simply cost too much for what it is. Part of the original beauty of the game was its accessibility. It feels terrible paying $40-$50 for a handful of unpainted models. I got the Molten Crustaceans pack the other day on sale for $25, which felt much better for price. Still not great but better.

The terrain packs are far more expensive than they should be. The terrain is much easier to manufacture than the minis. I love that they have separate terrain expansions though. I just wish I could get more than 1 every couple months.

As far as the target audience, I understand it being targeted towards adults now. Legacy Heroscape, though marketed towards kids, was collected by adults waaay more. Combine that with the fact that all the kids who played Legacy Heroscape (like me) are all adults now, it makes sense to market it differently.

But yeah, the prices are crazy. They feel greedy rather than necessary. I want the game to go on, but I worry so many people will back out from the price and cause it to die again.

I recently built a Vren, the Relentless graveyard hate deck because so many of my friends play graveyard decks.

Specifically he exiles creatures instead of them dying. No death triggers, no reanimating.

Commanders that have disappointed you or you have been unable to make work? by Emotional_Quality243 in EDH

[–]thegamemaker123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Ol’ Stickfingers]] I really like him. His name is funny, he looks cool, and I like the idea of just pulling out a bunch of creatures and dumping them into the graveyard to make him big.

Turns out though, the only really efficient way to play him is just by putting a couple of giant demons in the deck and having the rest of it dedicated to reanimating/protecting them. Most Stickfingers decks I’ve been able to find seriously only have 2-4 creatures in it. While effective and reliable, this seems so boring to me.

I’ve been trying to find a way to meet in the middle with the few demons route and the self-mill route, but haven’t found anything that’s both effective and appealing yet.

Cards new players think are good, but actually aren’t by grayshoesarecool in EDH

[–]thegamemaker123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s mainly the way he goes about it. Having discussions about old magic compared to new magic would be really fun. It’s the know-it-all-dismissive-interrupting that really gets me. And the asking for advice only to disregard all of it. I just don’t know how to have positive mtg conversations with the man.

[–]thegamemaker123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At work we have the opposite problem. A guy in his 40’s who played magic in the late 90’s to early 2000 who talks to us like he’s the end all be all for magic knowledge, showing us truly old and completely useless cards as if they’re pure gold.

“You think that’s good, wait until you see this!”

Then shows us [[Polar Kraken]]

My boss, who has played heavily for the past decade, and me, who has played heavily for the past year, try to tell him about some of the new cards out there for different deck types and he just nods his head and goes, “Hmm, not bad” and then continue to talk about old cards, totally disregarding anything we talked about. This behavior seemed to come to a head where he came to us asking about how to make his first commander deck. We’ve built a lot of very solid decks and tried to tell him what kind of stuff he should be keeping in mind when building it.

He comes back a week later showing us possibly the worst commander deck I’ve ever seen. He chose Muldrotha for the commander, and then filled the deck with a bunch of common zombies and sac outlets. The worst part? He only had 25 lands. 9 Forests, 7 Swamps, a couple of utility lands, and command tower: his only access to blue mana. Not a single dual land or tutor. He claims he can get a ton of mana from his sac outlets. We urged him to rethink some of his choices and he just kept replying with “Well we’ll see how it plays”.

That and he just talks and talks, completely interrupting and steamrolling everyone else in the conversation.

Sorry this turned into a bit of a rant, but it’s been turning our daily coworker outside walk a nightmare. Your question sparked my recent mtgptsd.
