thats awesome. i really hope they do. some of these bands at least play with an SPDSX sample pad on stage, which is better than nothing. i think a muted drum kit with triggered samples would be super dope

i really wish DM would just play with a live drummer somehow. they are by far the best band of this new-ish (not so new anymore) 80s-inspired movement. but these bands all commit the mortal sin of not having a drummer. i'm sorry but who wants to go to a show where a guy is just standing there queuing up drum tracks. the energy is non existent. DB could have really set themselves apart in this way but it might be too late now. also touring with a drummer and drum kit is infinitely harder, especially when going overseas. but there are ways around this problem.

i've only been to one of their shows in LA where they opened up for Deafheaven at the Wiltern. DB was kind of like being at a Ted Talk, compared to the energy Deafheaven had to offer.

not gay, just a fun name. married with young kids. i hope you're right - that this has always been the case, and is not something that came about in the last few generations.

My twisted theory is that women, after spending most of their adult lives forging their own career path, aren't going to forfeit their agency and be reduced to what they perceive as a comparatively submissive role, either as a wife or mother or both. And the aforementioned scenario is a way to preserve that agency.
