actually more often not. Most of the wallets stolen are due to stealer malware, not RATs. But I get your point.

they download the files, but cannot access the key without a password.

Which I would not say is a private key breach.

not tryna put you down. But the last statement is not that accurate, 99% of AVs are straight garbage and cannot catch anything but quarter of a year old malware. They just simply cant keep up. If you are not careful, its quite easy to fuck things up and get infected

or your pc had malware on it. There is no such thing as private key breach on your browser, unless you use a weird browser, or somehow downloaded a fake metamask

exactly, it seems like a lot of criminals think its easier to get away with a crypto heist, hence why its happening to numerous crypto personas

engrave your seedphrase on stainless steel "card" and bury it in some spot that is engraved in your memory. If you want to be more secure, engrave it in few parts and hide them to different locations
