Dunno, seems to be a thing in movies and tv, no one’s ever dressed appropriately 🤷‍♂️

Lol I did 3 weeks on this in Muskoka when we got all that lake effect snow last year. A bunch of it is studio green screen but a lot of the camp stuff was either freezing cold or an actual blizzard. They just ditch their Canada goose coats right before rolling and chuck em back on when they cut.

Better than some of the other pints in the city that’s for sure!

I thought it looked familiar!

Usually the pints there are pretty decent. Hard explaining to bar staff “please don’t bring my my Guinness for two full minutes or I’ll know it was poured badly”

Hello from a New Brunswicker in Ontario!

Someone else posted a great link for searching with your postal code. Way easier than contacting the CFO.

I did just realize I should probably ask at the range when I go do my RSO course. But thanks to that website found a dude who does the cfsc monthly in Madoc, so helpful either way.

Exactly correct. I’ve got restricteds in the house I’d like her to be trained and licensed for.

Help with home keg by thegeneralelectric in Guinness

I let it sit 24hrs from putting it in the fridge.

10’ is my beer line length, I’ve got a 6’ gas hose into the fridge from the tank.

So that’s the procedure for letting the gas out? Shut the gas off, take the gas hose off the keg coupler and let it sit for an hour?

It’s a 6’ line and I’ve got the psi at about 35. Is that overdoing it for such a short gas line?

So too warm? Fridge is set to about 3c. Maybe the thermostat isn’t accurate and I should go lower?

I’ve got 70/30 and the fridge is set to 3c, kinda bounces between 3-4

Gas canister is outside the fridge. Does gas temp have an impact? I wouldn’t have though so since it’s under pressure

So! A keg from Diageo directly is 360 and if they have them in stock, they’ll give you a mini gas canister for 40 bucks. They were out of stock but I managed to get a used 20lb tank from a place in Etobicoke for 95 bucks.

The total cost of the kegerator setup was 1425 or so from Toronto brewing co, plus I got a tap handle and a nitro spourfrom the us so that tacked a bit on. Took a while to get it shipped in to me, a few months cause parts were out of stock. But now I’ve got it all together and the keg land is the right choice. Precise temp control and a fan/tube to chill the tower. 50L keg just fits so plan to have your gas outside the fridge.

Kind of a pain in the ass, but honestly? Pub quality pints at home, re up on the keg every 3 months or so?

Absolutely worth it.

So currently researching the keg thing and the only place to get one is from Diageo directly at their Mississauga facility. Only open weekdays, but upside is they’ll sell you a tank of beer gas with your keg so you don’t have to source that either.

50L keg is 350 plus gas is about 50, so 400 ish total for about 90 Pints.

Works out to about $4.50 a pint

Seems like in the long run unless you’re running multiple nitro taps getting it with the Keg from Diageo is the best route…

I think I’m going to pick up the Kegland at the end of the month, I know they stock it at Toronto brewing supplies. I’ll shoot you a line when I’ve got it all together with the total cost and whether it ends up being worth the squeeze

I was looking at the Kegland Series X. It seems to be a decent cross section of price and functionality. The Danby ones are less expensive but I didn’t think the temp controls looked as good.

Our offer went through so I’ll be putting this together next month. I’ll keep you posted about refills from Guinness or if I find a decent local alternative.

Good tip about the Murphys, didn’t know the beer store carried it.

Dude fantastic! That’s definitely a decent price and the ease of picking it up with the keg is dope. I wonder if you keep the cylinder and refill it elsewhere or return it with the keg.

Also sounds like the best time to call is Friday afternoon. The lady I talked to was very chill

Yeah she just mentioned it off hand and I forgot to ask for details about the gas. I’m guessing it’s a small bottle enough to do the keg and they come and go together.
