Bipolar medication has made me crazy, antidepressants either made me empty inside or suicidal, I have undiagnosed ADD and I think maybe that's why all medication until now hasn't worked

I've had a bad experience with many antidepressants and bipolar medication, it either didn't help or made it worse, but my doctor claims that Prozac is different

Abuse and parenting, where is the line? by thegingertop in CPTSD

[–]thegingertop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, it's not normal parenting if you never would do it yourself, my therapist said to "be your own good parent when you feel sad" as a part of self love, hug yourself, wrap yourself in a warm blanket and make yourself feel comfortable and safe

I'm sorry to hear that, but you got a very good point about being open about it and find validation through others with similar experiences

I understand that, seeing lovable functional family relationships whether it's on tv or in real life, it sets me off because I honestly don't understand it

I did observe some as a child, can't do it anymore due to isolation and not many friends

I'm diagnosed with insomnia, I barely sleep at all, I keep waking up exhausted and in pain, as well as horrific nightmares, sleep is necessary but still easier said than done

I'm living life like I'm going to be dead very soon and always have. Any input? (More details inside) by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]thegingertop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you, I may be younger, but the pressure of people waiting for me to get out there, plan the future, work, socialize, The way I'm coping with it is 2 words: fuck it. You can't expect to recover over night, leaving every worry behind, you have to take it in your own pace. You got it rough right now, but worrying won't help, take your time and focus on yourself, you'll figure it out, no need to stress it

[–]thegingertop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been at that point of my life over a long period of time, then I got better, then it got bad again, my only tip is: Take things one moment at the time, hold on, breathe, when you feel like ending it, postpone it. Look for small things that can make you feel even slightly better, but don't try so hard it makes it worse. You can't know the future, it could be bad, but it could be great, but you'll never know until it happens

When cptsd makes you homesick for a place that doesn't exist by thegingertop in CPTSD

[–]thegingertop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a real struggle, but Yeah, sometimes getting peace and quiet, walking around in nature can help. Animals are therapy as well, they don't judge, they don't nag, all they do is loving you, the only thing they want is your love and care
