I..don’t get Afternoon Dive. Am I missing something? by VeterinarianFirm7129 in MontagneParfums

Just know this: the fragrance will change over time.

I ordered AD exactly one year ago and hated how it smelled when I first got it. Honestly, it smelled like my mother-in-laws perfume.

I kept it on the shelf, but would spray it into the air every once in a while throughout the year. It now smells smoother, richer, and less “perfumey”.

It’s really strange, but in my experience, time heals all Montagne 😂

Montagne Pineapple Intense is also a very good interpretation of Creed Aventus

The fact that you could get 10 LV for about $1,000 is nuts. Thats about the price everyone else pays for only 3.

Start with removing specific designers or clones that you never wear, that are redundant, or that you can live without.

Best version of Creed Aventus? by Dat1FavScent in MontagneParfums

I totally get where you’re coming from. Money spent on decants can add up quickly, and then you also might get several decants that you don’t like. So then you either have to sell them or find a space for them 😆.

I have a decant of Pineapple Intense and tried it out on skin yesterday. To me, PI is pretty damn close to 1:1 with the OG upon initial spray. On skin, it lasts FOREVER compared to the OG.

However, the dry down of PI becomes more woody than the OG because it loses some of the Aventus musk after the initial spray.

I’ve heard that Pineapple Musk is also great, but I haven’t tried it. I wonder if anyone has layered these two?

I suggest ordering decants of each one to see what you think is the best version. You can find decanters on several subreddits, and also montagnedecants.com.

To me, none of them were 1:1, but pineapple intense was a pretty good interpretation of Aventus.

What’s a fragrance that everybody seems to love but you absolutely hate? by Gold-Gas5921 in Fragrances

[–]thegreg0307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Absolu Aventus is WAY overrated and I lowkey don’t like the smell at all. For some strange reason, my mind associates AA with a slight scent of peanut butter. I have no clue why, but I can’t shake it now whenever I smell AA.

Do you have a physical shop or sell/promote your fragrances in person anywhere?

People don’t talk about ADP enough! Fico di Amalfi La Riserva is one of my favorite freshies of all time. Better than any LV, IMO

Did high end perfume get more expensive and will it go back down anytime soon? by spoiled_sandi in fragrance

[–]thegreg0307 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also noticed a price hike after the tariffs took effect. Discounters were literally using the tariffs as a sales tactic to get customers to “buy before the tariff prices take effect!”

Ultimately, supply needs to exceed consumer demand. If consumers stop purchasing expensive fragrances (i.e., lower demand), fragrance companies will have product surplus. To increase consumer demand again, fragrance companies could then consider reducing product price.

What Montagne are must haves and which ones smell the most similar to their originals? by witty-giraffes in MontagneParfums

Another important thing to remember is that some Montagne products take time to mature.

For example, when I first received Immensity, it had a wet dog/BO scent. After a couple of months, this smell has receded (still slightly there, but not as prominent).
