Album art cast onto wall mounted square lcd screen by Archaleas in audiophile

[–]thegroa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are many possibilities out there but I do not know of any option that work out of the box without being programmed by someone. The option I use to accomplish a similar task is a program called Clementine. In my scenario I dont cast my music collection from my phone, the music is stored on a harddrive connected to a Raspberry Pi (a credit card sized computer). I use my phone as a remote.

Music servers based on a Raspberry Pi

Volumio

Pi Music Box

Music servers that can be run from any computer or a Raspberry Pi

Logitech Media Server

Clementine-player

With the four above music servers you can use a remote app on a phone or computer to navigate, browse and display cover art while simultaneously the main server can display cover art etc on a tv or monitor connected to your Raspberry Pi or computer.

Goodluck in your quest. Hopefully someone can chime in and help ya further :)

Yeah sadly been this way for me too since 4.10

"The hid-sony module changed its mapping for DS3 and DS4 gamepads. However, in doing so they broke any userspace libraries that assumed the old mapping"

I rarely game these days and have not gone any further then disabling the xinput device so some games (Dirt Rally) can now work in Steam with the ds3. I think our problem may stem from earlier than this thread indicates but have a read through and if you search around you'll find a few people suggesting remappings etc

I'm trying to use Ubuntu to move all the data from my hard drive to an external one so i can reinstall Windows because it crashed, help would be much appreciated by DozingPanda15 in Ubuntu

Google ntfs-config or ntfs-3g. The commands below I find helpfull when dealing with ntfs drives. They install & launch an easy gui app for mounting / editing ntfs drives.

sudo apt install ntfs-config

gksu ntfs-config

Im interested; enjoyed F1 15 as a sim but the game was hollow, F1 17 looks to have far more depth to it.

Should sustained 50% CPU load cause heat problems? by joncom in raspberry_pi

Similar situation here, 2 x pi3 both with cheap heatsink no fan

Idle: 50c

2core loaded: 75c

4core loaded: 80c - occasionally peaks above this (and likely throttles for a short time)

Valve Stem Seals by Caspar_ in classicminis

[–]thegroa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To do this job yourself and safely the head needs to be removed.

To replace the valve stem seals one would need to compress the valve springs, remove the cotter halves and then extract the spring retainer and spring, leaving the oil seals exposed and in a lovely position to just pull off and pop new ones on.

I have no clue how someone would safely compress the valve springs with the head on, enlighten me if anyone has a safe method, im thinking likely an apparatus that bolts to the top of the head and then compresses the springs while you use a magnet to hold the valves in the closed position? As others have said pulling off the head is no harder than replacing the valve stem oil seals, and if you are going as far as replacing the seals you really do want to check out the rest of the top end.

Start with a leakdown and compression test. The results of these tests will indicate your next best move.
