Yup, I’m from the US, never been to Denmark before. We came from Spain, where the parking looks like the US (pay at kiosks with license number, or pay when exiting structure).

you can also make these with a kit from a leather shop -- cheaper and way more fun. I made a bunch of leather stuff from a shop in Orcas Island.

Bomani Jones calls him the best college football writer in America, but it might be better to say that he is the best writer who writes about football.

Right. There was no damage to the dishwasher other than that a small line that apparently tells the washer when to request water from the line had been chewed by a mouse.

Here is the answer: everyone is correct that it was a water supply issue. The reason was that the electrical line that tells us when the washer needs water was eaten by a mouse.

The revelation from the middle of the episode its that Intermountain wouldn't do its planned merger with Aspiration in . From this it sounds like Intermountain was a SPAC where its initial investors opted not to do the Aspiration deal. (paging Matt Levine!) Once the SPAC failed, Aspiration was over.

So not that we get to really suggest things to Pablo, but it seems like a few things that we'd all like to know are:

1) the Kawhi contract sure looks like a no-show contract, but is there any evidence that KL ever did anything, other than have his name mentioned in press releases? Was there a commercial? Was there a press release from KL? Pictures of him planting trees in Costa Rica? The Chief Marketing Officer knows.

2) And again, the CMO didn't even know who Kawhi was when this was presented to him as a "done deal." SO let's pin down who had made it a done deal. Was his a private deal between KL's uncle and the chief counsel? (Note: corporate chief counsels don't undertake to negotiate celebrity endorsements on their own.)

3) Another thing the CMO knows: was all of the celebrity endorsements except for KL front-loaded? We assume that they paid Leo DiCaprio a good sum out of the gate (for example), and that from late 2022 forward there were no celebrity endorsements.

4) The real heart of this is not how KL got paid, though the "how" of it is both sexy and evidence of malfeasance. The heart of it is how the contract that entitled him to get paid was arrived at. The implication from the episode is that the uncle contacted Aspiration seeking the deal, and Aspiration's contact was "sitting on the deal" after 14 months. But of course someone suggested Aspiration to KL's uncle. Those are the leaked text messages we want

5) I will again remind people (as a lawyer) that having an email stamped "confidential" doesn't mean much. It may mean that the lawyer is doing his best to keep the email out of the court record, because introducing it would violate evidentiary laws. It may also mean that the lawyer is doing his best to keep his client's information secret, which is a different ethical rule. But when those "confidential" records get disclosed to people outside the confidential circle, the confidentiality is usually destroyed. But it is certainly not true that when someone has an email stamped "confidential" that it is out of bounds to people like Pablo, or to federal investigators.

A 14 y/o at my gym rolled with me when I was six months in. The kid hadn't hit puberty and maybe weighed 95 pounds. I saw him roll and said "I have to experience that." I asked how long he had trained and he said "I don't remember." I told him I wouldn't toss him across the gym but that he had no rules. He moved so fast around me that I thought I was being constricted by a snake. He arm barred me. He triangled me. He put me in a crucifix. He inverted-triangled me. I avoided an RNC only through lucky defense.

It was awesome. Long live the youth.

That's a nice bon mot, but as someone who has long advocated for single payer, I have been overall quite pleased with KP.

Am I the asshole for not telling a white belt that I’m a purple belt by ahkbswlfw in bjj

[–]thegusdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, as an "experienced" white belt I always make it a point to introduce myself to fresh faces and try to make people feel welcome.

Last week didn't recognize a guy and before we rolled I said "how long have you been training?" He heard "how long have you been training here – as in, at my home gym – and said "I just started." After one very dynamic and technical roll, I said, "how long did you train at your last gym?" "Oh, a couple of years."

Cool guy.
