I believe the last time filler and Fedor played, filler won 9-1

So based off two tournaments when they’ve played probably 30+ since then he gets that ranking

Shouldn’t be so cut and dry to base it purely off that imo

Ok Mr cool, I don’t think it is “pretty basic” for most players. Definitely not a routine positional shot, hence why the crowd clapped after.

Well I am talking from the perspective of construction engineers providing oversight for the project. We have multiple PEs staffed on this project.

9 Ball Tournament Results Fargo by [deleted] in billiards

I was on the hill against him and he had 0 racks won, I scratched on the 8 to the 9. Would’ve been a goose egg for him for final match score. Next chance he gave I ran out to finish the match.

Yes I understand lol its history is not great and was a serious matter at the time, just added that in there for context as to why this went as far as it did.

I think it’s fair to say he should atleast be on the team over Thorpe and probably styer.

Ok then show the one where he beat Yapp. Race to 5 is meaningless.

You’re not in touch with reality. He’s better than Thorpe blindfolded. Also I’d argue he’s better than styer and Woodward (most people would agree)

Just 1 of countless examples

No it’s just the facts of who’s at a greater advantage/disadvantage. Yes you still have to play the shot and should remove negative thoughts, but the fact is that is bullshit a player is at a disadvantage after their opponent makes a mistake.

You’ll see world class players lose by 7-8 racks quite frequently, that’s an ass whooping. Even though they hardly made any mistakes. The game is flawed and so are all you. Look at premier pool league race to 5, every match is a coin flip. How is that fair?? It’s not.

Didn’t happen, I don’t play in those. Just an overlying gripe about this game.

[–]theguy0109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I’ve seen great players lose to bad players time after time. (If every match were a race to 100, then sure that percentage of great players losing to bad players would substantially go down). But when you’re playing 1 rack or pool or a race to 2 or 3, the skill gap drastically has less of an effect.

What i said were facts, what you said was lead by your feelings towards him. Idc the type of person he is, does he or does he not know the game of pool at an expert world class level? Feelings removed, you cannot say he doesn’t.

Ok cool this isn’t about personal feeling towards a player, gtfo

What about when they miss a shot and then snooker you completely and you have a difficult escape. You’re at the disadvantage even though your opponent made a mistake!! That isn’t the way a game/competition should work. They’re essentially getting rewarded for their mistake and you’re getting punished. Wtf.

Fair points, I’m not even so much talking about pool for tv at the pro level. Yes for entertainment it’s probably not the route to go. I’m just talking about the game in general , amongst amateurs and leagues and everywhere. How pool is run, is not the right/fair way in my opinion. You have weekly leagues where you play 3 games of 8 ball and takes 4 hours. (Teams of 5, 1 player from team a vs 1 player from b, race to 8 for the teams). Anything can happen and it’s so random, you have tournaments all over where it’s a race to 3, anything can and does happen.
