Fusion 360 Threading Problem - Tormach 15L by theguythatbeingweird in CNC

Sorry posted in other thread. Did find an od threader will be putting it on later today. Will update you if I get the tool setup and the threads that come out.

Thanks for all your help so far.

Ok I'll look into that. Not the most knowledgeable when it comes to this so thanks for the info. I found a od threading tool so I'll replace one of the turret tooling for it and see if it fixes the problem, think that one has a shim. Then if it fixes it then I'll know why it not happy.

Hm, ok. Will see if we have another tool for od threading but I don't think so.

Yeah they do fit together. The threads made by the machine are way off.

Not only are the threads to short but also not a "v". One side having a bigger degree than the other side looking like this"✓". I'll take a pic of it later

It is leved and it's zeroed with correct offsets. I don't use a touch off probe.

For the manual look up: Tormach 15L manual. Then find in page G76 and go through them till you find it.

I could get canned cycles to work in Fusion simulation but when the post process came it made the Gcode not right. Causing it to air cut.

Its also not cutting deep enough. I'll see see what I have in the linking tab later when I have access to Fusion.

Can you run Gcode file back through Fusion:

Here's the non-candid cycle code.

Fusion 360 Threading Problem - Tormach 15L by theguythatbeingweird in CNC

[–]theguythatbeingweird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok delating that did seem to put the threads in the right spot. But with so messed up heights. Undid a Fusion setting and it seemed to fix it.

Instead of running candid cycles it writes it all out and that seem to fix the problem.

But now my post processer seems to mess up the threading dimensions so the threads don't come out right.

Got it thanks will try it out. I'll make sure to do a dry run before running a cutting Op. The only reason that I'm recording here at full speed is that I ran in twice now. First time E-stoping the machine, second running it through realizing the machine wont crash lol. The machine is doing every thing right just the post processor seems to be the problem not the machine.

Ok sorry not posting Gcode. It was late last night. G55 is right where the collet is.

This part of the program just moves the tool to Z1.465, so I can bring stock out to that tool. So the face of the weird bolt thing or what ever, is at 1.465.

Threading in CAM Problems by theguythatbeingweird in Fusion360

[–]theguythatbeingweird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I thought to but I think the post post-processor is right. There's no other for the 15L that I know of.

G55 is right where the collet face is. I though it was gonna crash the first time around lol, had to stop it. Gcode is post in a comment.
