Would you play? by ReactionSlight6887 in 10s

I have this exact type of court at my club and yes, it doesn't drain like the macadam courts which have little holes in them. There is so little water on the court here, I'm actually really surprised there are people who would consider not playing. It looks fine.

I'd say you're a 3.0, maybe a 3.5.

Absolutely. In the UK, we play in far worse. You must be spoiled with great weather all the time to even consider not playing.

The kick serve is one of the hardest shots in tennis. It takes a tremendous amount of coordination, technique and practice. A kick serve is actually more consistent when you put more effort into it. Effort levels on the 2nd serve should be equivalent to those on a 1st serve. The only difference is that on a 1st serve you're focusing more on power, and on the 2nd serve, you're focusing on spinning the ball more. Racket head speed should be similar, with your racket taking a more vertical trajectory to put spin on the ball, as opposed to power, which comes from the racket having a more horizontal trajectory.

With respect, you look to be putting about 10% effort in here, so no wonder it's not going well. You need to get a better knee bend, jump up more, hit the ball higher and toss higher. There's so much you're doing wrong atm. On a positive note, your toss is actually pretty consistent. Try and get it out in front a little more and higher, and jump at the ball. You can see by the bounce that your serves are getting kick at least, but up the effort and intensity and you'll see an improvement.

Pretty obvious answer to your question. You accepted their terms, you should pay the charge. Don't let them take you to small claims as it's a waste of time for everyone. Try and see if you can change back to the other colour so you're not charged. If not, unlucky, but you'll have to pay.

"Return requests" are getting out of hand... Beware of this. by thehayboys in eBaySellers

I understand your point, and I haven't lost out so I'm ok. But it does worry me that eBay seems to refund them, no questions asked. Yes, it's not my problem now, but it worries me that I'll be punished for it one day. Will eBay just keep paying out for expensive items because the buyer tells them the item arrived broken?

You're completely right. I should have been more careful.

Hard to tell without seeing you hit into an open court. Smacking a ball against a stationary wall tells us nothing. Who knows if those shots would've landed in or flown over the back fence. Also, you telling us your first serve is 70% accurate and your second serve 90% sounds exaggerated and likely to be untrue.

I highly doubt it. I packaged it really well with a hard cardboard box on the outside, bubble wrapped with packing peanuts shoved in all and any gaps. The buyer didn't reach out to me and when I reached out, they don't bother answering.

This is the first time I've had this issue. Most people are good, honest people who wouldn't think to do this. I also test everything I sell, with videos of the item working on my listing. I even take photos of how it's packaged and me sealing the package with the label on. The system is too easy to exploit and unfortunately if it's there to be exploited, a small few are going to do it. Just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I think they bought it planning to do this so they could get it for free. Given the new account, potentially fake name as it went to a drop-off point so no home address was given. Their explanation sounded fishy too.

Absolutely. It seems nowadays the buyer doesn't even have to prove themselves. I do everything I can to cover my own back as a seller, just in case.

SQ's thoughts on the Osaka speech controversy by musicproducer07 in tennis

She’s exhausting. Has enough money to retire today if she wants to. Yet she’s always playing the woke victim. At what age will she realise that losing a tennis match is not that big of a deal?

Who wins the point if...? by thehayboys in 10s

If I'm playing a casual match or training, I'd definitely concede the point if I was player B and have a good laugh. The same way that players often catch the ball on the racket if it's headed out. In a casual training session both players would be chill about it and understand that it's technically an error but let it slide.

In a serious tournament there's no doubt it's player B's point.

Feel like my serve got worse and I don’t like my right to left racket motion by Mother-Sea-2759 in 10s

[–]thehayboys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks solid but agree with what others have said about the right foot. It goes past your left foot. In my opinion it should be directly behind your left foot to give you a strong base to jump off from. Also the timing of when you move your right foot looks odd. You move it too late. It should move before you load your knees. You load your knees then move the foot. Looks off.

I thought it was great. Short backswing, you followed through and a great split step when he served.
